Passed the written maybe two weeks ago, passed my oral last week then T-storms rolled in and I had to postpone the checkride. Passed the checkride on Monday for PPL. Going to start instrument rating studying, take the written while waiting for flight school to get fully opened back up.
Is the best move to just do all the questions in exam prep software over and over enough times that you memorize them?
I just realized today how close I am to being done (it felt further off). I have to take a Stage II check ride later this week or early next week, then it's just 1. XC, 2. Long...
exactly, no need to descend until you see the airport. Don't descend and give up altitude just because the airport "should be there" if you don't have it.
Just got back from my first solo! DAMN that felt good! Greased the landings. I wore an old t-shirt just in case, but I guess they aren't shirt cutters at my flight school ;)
I adjusted my seat positioning a bit to get a slightly different sight picture down the cowling (raised the seat a bit), and apparently that sorted it. CFI told me today it looks like everything has "clicked" now and he is very pleased with all of my landings and i'm putting them dead on the...
Well, I have no problem with my CFI holding me to a higher standard that was is the min necessary, I prefer it even. There is some truth to the last bit though. Yesterday we did 11 landings, they were all safe, but I would say ~2 of them were perfect (nose bang on centerline, smooth even flare...
What I have been doing is looking at where the yellow lines are in relation to some bolts on the cowling while taxiing and trying to line the centerline up with the same on short final.
Yup, I am trying to figure out what's wrong with my sight picture so I can "see" what I am doing wrong regarding the alignment and fix it, so I can move on. Close, but no cigar, yet.
That's the thing, my CFI says I am GOOD with the pedals when we are dealing with a crosswind. We have gone up a few times with very heavy winds just to get an idea of what it's like and what my personal limits should be. I am talking days when it was like 16-18 gusting 24-26. The aforementioned...
I just assumed that I shouldn't worry about the written until I had done the solo, Stage 2 and was pushing towards wrapping up the curriculum, but I guess if I can take it, couldn't hurt to start prepping questions.
