    CGR-30P Bar Graph Resolution

That's true, but it defeats the whole purpose of the bar graph, i.e., to see at a glance a problem or a new trend. The digital view does not indicate relative changes.

    CGR-30P Bar Graph Resolution

I have two CGR-30P's installed in my twin. I have found that the bar graph resolution is such that changes in EGT or CHT are not reflected on the graphs unless they are massive. As examples, (a) when doing a mag check (either at runup or in the air) or (b) when enrichening or leaning the...

New Aviation Weather Center web page

Thanks. The presentation is, IMHO, a poor substitute for the infrared satellite picture displayed on the old website. I believe that the "new and improved" website is new but is certainly not improved.

New Aviation Weather Center web page

Unless I missed it, the new site does not have the infrared satellite image in color. The color was indicative of cloud tops which I found very useful. If I did miss it, please let me know.

    Oil Cooler Post Overhaul?

Was the powerpack "overhauled" by Cox. If so, beware.

Turn coordinator replacement - time required

AQI is a reputable shop it seems ...The operative words are "it seems." FWIW, which may be nothing, I have had terrible experience with AQI. The money it cost me in return shipping and mechanics' time to remove and reinstall two defective "overhauls" far exceeded the savings from AQI's low...

    Erratic CGR-30P Manifold Pressure Readings

I have a twin and am now on my fifth and sixth MP sensors in the last year and a half. I made two trips from the Bahamas to Florida with no MP readings on either engine. The four failures occurred after the plane was parked in the Bahamas with very humid and wet conditions. EI was able to...

    Erratic CGR-30P Manifold Pressure Readings

Speak to Dave (as opposed to David) at EI. He is well aware of the problem.

    Partial Panel in TAA aircraft

In my aircraft a loss of electrical power will render the G5 HSI useless, including heading information, because the magnetometer is powered by the ship's electrical system rather than the G5's battery.

Century III and G5 Heading Mode Offset

If I make the adjustment you suggest, will it have any affect on the omni, nav or localize modes? Those modes now work properly.

Century III and G5 Heading Mode Offset

    They are both using magnetic.

Century III and G5 Heading Mode Offset

I have dual G5s coupled to a Century III autopilot. When the autopilot is in heading mode (non GPSS), the heading will be a constant 4 degrees to the left of the heading bug, e.g if the heading bug on the G5 is set to 90 degrees, the G5 will show an actual heading of 86 degrees. Is there an...

    Alternator Core Reject

I would never authorize the reversal. They received the core from the OP and thus he complied with his obligation. Obviously, any core provided under these conditions is not in the best of shape. If it were in good shape, the OP would have had no reason to buy another alternator.

G5, 530W, Century III (Altimatic IIIC) Intercept Angle

Prior to the recent installation of dual G5s, when the AP was engaged it would intercept the desired course at a 45° angle. It made no difference if the CDI was tracking a VOR or GPS signal. The 45° angle is correct per the Century documentation. Since the G5s' installation, the intercept angle...

Backup Battery on G5 Appears to be Useless.

Your collective defenses of Garmin are not valid in my opinion. How is a consumer to know that in order for the backup battery to provide any HDI (or DG) backup, the internal GPS of the G5 must be enabled through another GPS antenna at significant addional cost of materials and labor?
