    DC FRZ Bust...

As a GA pilot and one of those people who got to watch the scopes for ADIZ violators for from 2005 to 2007, I can say with authority - Harry is right. We crash three or four times per day on our own, and I've personally - myself - witnessed as many as 23 ADIZ violations in less than 10 hours by...

"Papa Bear" O'Reilly is onto US Airways about the 1549 Cover-Up!

Yeah, exactly. They reduced the throttle of an operative engine to flight idle, effectively removing it from the equation because the throttle was not blocked as it should have been, and then they advanced the throttle of the inoperative engine. In the process, they belly-flopped the only...

    Second Flight in a Twin

Commercial Rated Pilot, was never in question. The operation is what's in question.

    Second Flight in a Twin

You're getting a lot of BIG dollar exposure to fancy airplanes. Good for you, but one day, those twin bills will come your way. It tempers the experience, trust me! HW

Best way to do multi work at low hours

Again, retract time is going to be precious, if you're indeed in the market for something with folding legs. The more hours you have not dragging the underside, the better in terms of insurance.

Best way to do multi work at low hours

Maybe a little overstated, but the gear on the 310, particularly the nose gear is famously "fragile" if not in perfect working order and STC'ed with the "brace". A good hard stop can smoke a set of tires (trust me), brakes are chewed up quicker. Yup. It's all about the MEI, but then again...

    First Flight in a Twin

I'm 100% sure there was "no-coverage" on that flight. Either way, nothing bent, nothing harmed. BTW - Was you instructor able to log the time for you?? That would really make free multi-time worth it. Glad you had a good time. HW

Best way to do multi work at low hours

Okay. My first "owned" airplane is a Twin. In fact, a Baron. I did my multi-training in it (big financial mistake) and there is much sage advice here listed already. As twin-owner, let me explain a few things to you from the "been there, paid that bill perspective". First, you can insure...

    172 g1000 (AHRS) (comm) problem

I have a few hundred hours behind the G1000, the only time I had a failure to date was in IMC at 1:00am in the morning. I lost all vacuum pump, real fun. It was interesting, we'd spent so much time worrying about training for a G1000 failure, I had to think about what happens if the standby...

    Wanted: Prebuy in North Jersey

I'm in need of an A&P in Northern New Jersey to review a Baron 55. If anyone can recommend someone, please let me know. Beech experience is obviously a plus. Thanks, HW

    Ballmer laughs at the iPhone

I guess the best question is, "Why do you really care if the iPhone tanks?" unless you have a stake in the company you can't get rid of quickly. I like the phone, and will purchase one, if you don't like it, I say stick with your current phone and plan. I'm a pretty recent Mac convert, as I...
