Hi, Last month I flew a 9 day trip out of Charlotte, NC wandering NW toward Seattle. Then turning south, following the Coast to San Diego, before turning East and heading back home. There was no real agenda except to explore the Western United States! :D I've posted a couple shorter...

Still working on the Yellowstone video, but here's a screen grab. Initially, my plan was to land at West Yellowstone, spend the night, check out 'Old Faithful' etc...but after seeing it erupt from the air, and with the amazing Grand Tetons calling to me on the horizon, I flew over to Jackson...

I overflew Yellowstone a day earlier, with a landing at Jackson Hole. Old Faithful erupted on my second 360, one of the coolest moments of the entire trip! Still working on that video. :)

After sitting for 6000+ miles, I think I got a case of "volcanoes" too. :yikes:

I grew up out West, but currently live in NC (where I learned to fly). Having spent most my time flying around the SouthEast, I was lucky enough to recently complete a 9 day, 6145nm flight out West in my Diamond DA42. Visited old friends and family while on the trip, but one of the highlights...

I recently spent a couple days visiting Diamond Austria, where I had a chance to go up in Christian Dries' DA42-VI for a flight into the Alps! ...about half way through the flight, I blurted out with enthusiasm "I'm flying in Europe!" :thumbsup: I had been so looking forward to this...

Was just reviewing a friends' route on the Diamond forums. He did just what you suggested. On a Southbound flight, flew passed the statue at 1,100' to VZ Bridge, then turned around, descended, and flew back up to the statue for 5 circles. He then departed back to the South. This seems like...

Interesting observation, I thought I was doing it the correct way, but you do have a point. No way was I going to do the full corridor below 1000Ft in the 'crazy helicopter zone', but at the same time wanted to circle the statue. The way I understood the rules, I couldn't do that at exclusion...

Now that would have been something to see! Hope to see the pics! :yes: On the return trip, entered the Hudson just South of Albany and flew it all the way down. Got some nice pictures of Westpoint! :wink2:
