you should be right, but "economies of scale" is not how energy is now managed. At least not in my state. Political goals have a lot to do with costs than anything else. And I'm beginning to get tired of this constantly adjusting my cost. "Completely disconnected" is probably too much, but...

Personally, my ideal solution is to completely be disconnected from power grid. Solar, batteries, EVs, ground loop, propane for cooking and really cold days and backup generator, 1 gas car for long trips and backup. I can't do this now for various reasons. Maybe I will never be able to...

You are correct. But also not giving complete data. Tesla 2023 revenue is up 19% over 2022. But its Q4 2023 is up only 3.5% over Q4 2022. This says to me that Q4 was a lot worse than rest of the year. These numbers were below expectations btw They had to lower their prices to keep selling cars...
