Anyone else going to the Reno air races this year?

It would be good to meet up with anyone that goes. My number is 979 331 8393. We’ll be flying over on Tuesday but won’t be at the races until Thursday. Gary

Anyone else going to the Reno air races this year?

We’ll be there Thursday through Sunday. We’re flying into RNO for the convenience even though the fuel is so high. My wife said she’d prefer to go there than Carson City and I’m just happy she’s going with me so RNO it is. Gary

Tall pilot looking to buy a time building plane

I’m 6’4 and it was tight in my 172. The top of the head-band frequently touched the head-liner. I have several more inches of head-room available in my Cardinal RG and could gain even more by tilting the seat-back further back. I also have more room for my legs under the panel and the yoke. I...

Just got home from my longest trip ever

Thanks Gary, Seeing the back side of Crazy Horse is one of many things we get to see that most don’t. Until the first time I flew Mount Rushmore I didn’t know George Washington’s head stuck above the mountain and was finished in the back. I’m betting the number of non-pilots / passengers...

Just got home from my longest trip ever

We took a total of 22 days including time spent at Oshkosh and with family / friends. We flew at least part of the day on 15 days. All of the flying was in our Cardinal RG. They have very comfortable seats and enough wing loading to be fairly stable in turbulence. gary

    406 ELT

I have the ACK tied into my Garmin 430W. Easy to install and I know it works because I set it off by accident last Thursday while loading the baggage area after doing maintenance on the plane. I got a call from the coordination center a few minutes later. They knew my actual location and I...

3D Printed Headset Control Holders at OSH - Who was selling?

Based on the N-Number I believe it’s the people that own https://www.tbostudio.com. I just sent them a message through their contact form asking if they were the ones selling the holders, asking for one for an A-20 and a Zulu 3, and letting them know there are others on this board that might be...

Just got home from my longest trip ever

It wasn’t a cheap trip but without the plane it probably wouldn’t have been possible, or at best it would have been a long more expensive and time consuming. Those of us that get to fly are truly blessed. gary

Would it siphon the entire tank?

I had the gasket between the top of the fuel tank and the wing on my first 172 replaced. The mechanic didn’t do the job properly and the gasket leaked. In the 10 minutes it took me to notice the leak after takeoff and successfully land back at the airport I took off from I’d lost 44 of the...

Getting hard to launch a boat at Lake Powell. We saw two ramps that are still semi operational. It’s been more than 20 years since we last boated there but the water is down something like 100’ compared to that time.

    Ordered new Tecnam P2010

Congratulations Scott. We’ll be looking forward to the report on the trip home once you pick it up. Any chance / interest and you flying along on the ferry trip to the US? That’s a trip I’ve always wanted to make. gary

What are Your Thoughts About the DPE System?

Sorry for the ‘stupid question’. Does DPE stand for designated pilot examiner in this case?

Just got home from my longest trip ever

I tried loading some into a drop-box link to start. I haven’t done this before but here is the link. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t7v22khexg0x8bs/AADTAyeAWI6UfxoUd-p1VhVQa?dl=0 I will cull down the list and post some directly to this chain later. The woman in the photos is my wife of 46 years...
