Just for followup I was able to install the Battery Minder Airframe Interface Kit that can be installed with an A&P log entry. The easiest place to connect is the back of the Standby switch that is connected directly to the battery. You can see the black and red wire where we doubled up on the...
Thanks, I’ve read that, but I’m not looking to do a once in a while charge. I’d like to maintain the battery between flights with a battery minder without having to pull breakers each flight.
To be able to charge through the external port you need to do the following.
0. Avionics Bus 1 & 2 off (duh)
1. Master On (to energize the External Power Relay)
2. Pull Essential Bus Breakers (PFD, ADC, Nav 1, Comm 1) as there's no way to turn off the essential bus once the master is on
3. Turn...
Anyone installed a battery minder for their G1000 standby battery on a Cessna, specifically T206H? I'm in the process of installing a battery minder for the main battery, and thought it would make sense to install one for the standby as well as I don't want to have the essential bus energized to...
As a followup, the issue is that the Master has to be on to energize the external power relay. Also, the -11 amp discharge is fine as it's measuring the current draw from the external power supply or main battery. It can't differentiate between the two.
Anybody know what the WndDr means in the G1000 data log file?
It appears to go from +180 to -180. What does 0 mean? 100% Headwind or Tailwind? Or a wind from the North? I'm trying to calculate the headwind/tailwind component.
Anybody know where I can source the receptacle connector for this connector? It's a Cessna landing light connector to the HID ballast. We're trying to make a clean connection for a new LED light rather than cutting wires.
I'm in a 206, and I thought ground power would open just by connecting it. The POH doesn't have much on it to just run avionics without starting. I'll reread again.
On the ground power it never leaves flood charging mode. The ground power green light is on, but the yellow charging is not.
Just picked up an aircraft with a G1000 and I'm trying to do some training on the ground. I connected a JAC2024H to the external power and when I start the PFD with the Master Battery switch it shows negative AMPS for the M BAT. Is this normal with ground power? Is there a handshake I'm missing?
