    Grim crash in Alaska

Anyone know the operator of the Beaver? We flew with Michelle with Island Wings a few years ago. Lots of planes in and out of there.

    Flying in Aruba?

Looks like we're going to be taking a trip to Aruba next year. Anyone familiar with it? I was hoping to at least take some instruction, and get to log time there. It doesn't look like there's much in the way of anything GA on the island.

    A-4 vs F-18

I love how the F-4s look. Had a chance to sit down and share a lunch with Hoot Gibson. He shared some great stories, but he talked about how much of a pig the F-4 was to move around. I was surprised to hear that, at the time knowing both the Blues and T-birds used them as aerial demonstrators.

    A-4 vs F-18

I had a discussion with my teenage sons the other day about the Blue Angels flying the A-4 vs the F-18. My contention was that, even though they couldn't do some of the going vertical stuff the Hornets do, I thought the shows looked better when they were flying the Skyhawks. They just seemed...

    Top Gun goosebumps

I will admit to liking Top Gun to the point of being able to quote most of the movie, but no goosebumps on that scene. I think even at 11, I knew that particular footage was BS. That Van Halen video, on the other hand ... one of my favorite songs set to footage of my favorite version of the...

It's Final...We're Moving from CA to TX!

There may be some truth to that, but it was a pretty big campaign. Right off hand, I can think of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Willie Nelson, George Foreman, George Strait, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Chuck Norris doing the TV spots. I'm sure there were more (and this was back in the 80's, so these...

It's Final...We're Moving from CA to TX!

Heim BBQ on Magnolia is the place to be. Anyone flying in would have to go to Meacham and find a ride down there, but that's the best 'cue I've had, and that includes the the big guns down in Lockhart.

    Today sucked

After buying this company in May, I was basically getting kicked in the 'nads every Friday because of some mess left by the previous owner. Cleaned most of that up, and have had 3 weeks' worth of Friday's with nothing going wrong, so I'm on Cloud 9!!! Though, I did discover on Tues that one of...

    North Texas: Pineapple Pancakes? When?

Hmmmm ... 9/2 is a real possibility for me. I need my French toast bake fix. Need my sons' schedules to come out.

    Is Texas GA friendly?

(Disclaimer ... I know absolutely nothing about this specific house, but I do live 8 mins from the airport, and keep my plane in the T hangars there) https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/137-Constellation-Dr-Cresson-TX-76035/52842626_zpid Probably in-line with Cali pricing. You get to live with...

    Some Rotting Planes

Seeing that Navion almost makes me want to cry. Too cool of a plane to wither away like that.

I'll be in Denver on August 2nd Through 4th...

My brother in law used to be the head chef at Stuben's near downtown and then opened the Arvada location. Kind of a trendy, hipster place, but the food was great. He also took us to a taco place called Los Chingones. The rattlesnake chorizo tacos were sublime. (Actually, I would have just...
