    VFR avionics help

I’d still have one navcomm, but not two of them. If you went new, something like a Garmin GNC 255/GTR 225 package, and an Aera 660 or 770 in a panel mount to drive the Tru Trak (which does need a GPS but for VFR doesn’t have to be a panel mount one). Expand out to used radios and there’s quite...

    IFR C150 upgrades [help]

Just a 430W and CDI, no second radio. Can do GPS and VOR work, don't need to go to the expense of adding in an audio panel. Just that would likely be about the same outlay as doing what your original proposal would cost, if not less. Heck, might be able to do a 530W for that.

    Radios/toys and stuff I need

The acetone look is easily taken care of with new lenses. If you can swap out the audio panel with a PS Engineering with an identical pinout, I'd definitely consider it. If your nav and coms are good I would still go with the GNX 375 GPS/ADS-B transponder. Anyone coming from a 430W can figure...

    Mesa AZ Hangar Space

I thought SDL was just getting runway work, or are they closing it entirely and I’m thinking of somewhere else?

MidAir at Centennial Airport Cirrus and Metroliner

Yes, that's the first solo student following the Cirrus who saw the collision and chute.

The Metroliners were made in San Antonio. I doubt Pilatus will move their line out of Switzerland anytime soon, if at all.

multiple altimeters in the plane, do all require certification?

Sure. Switch to alternate static source (usually the cabin), compensate for the minor pressure difference, no problem. Certainly no worries about placarding second altimeters. I’d rather go with the well accepted path of alternate static air than go into the minefield of worrying about what...

multiple altimeters in the plane, do all require certification?

Placard, not plackard. Just curious, why the push for having a second altimeter that isn’t connected to the regular static system?

multiple altimeters in the plane, do all require certification?

The only references I’m aware of is if you’re intending to use it for IFR flight. Placard it “VFR only” and be done with it. If you’re that concerned about altimeter failure to want a second one though, I’d rather have a heated pitot/static probe and connect it to the static system. Just...

    Continental motors

I’ll add on that Reims built O-240 powered 150s for the European market, so at least some legwork has already been done.

Portable power for un powered hangar

This is the light I am referring to. Much brighter than the basic light, never leaves the hangar, and as I said in my original post, has a rechargeable battery.

    Digital Mag Timing Rite-System

Or the timing wasn’t set right in the first place. I have used the system myself and wish I could find my own. If anyone gets a 3D copy printed up I’d take one myself.

Portable power for un powered hangar

Will second the Ryobi system. Don’t bother with the cheap work light, get the one that also works on AC power as that sucker is bright. Their compressor is fine for most GA aircraft, just takes longer than an AC compressor. Or use whatever cordless tool system you already use.
