The amazing cryogenic JPI EDM 930

From the JPI FAQ: "Engine ground only – the same ground that the EGT probes are using – which is engine ground. Have them attach the ‘black’ ground wire off the P1 connector directly to the engine case. NOT panel ground, battery ground or airframe ground. These can vary from engine ground by...

just back from Sun N Fun

Drove in on Saturday. It was as crowded as I have ever seen it, but traffic control was greatly improved. Last year I waited over an hour to get parked. This year was more like 10-15 minutes. I thought Tora Tora Tora would be silly, but it turned out to be cool.

    Garmin 215

Between that and your JPI 930 issue, you might want to check that your airfield is not built on an old Indian burial ground or something. You don't have any bunkers on the airfield with a door labeled Dharma Initiative, do you?

TOP 10 THINGS THAT WORRY A PPL CANDIDATE

It's funny though. I am based on a very soft field. During winter drought, grass dies out or thins and there are patches of bare sand. In the picture below, the white strip is exposed sand on the runway centerline. We have all kinds of airplanes based here or visiting constantly. Nobody...

The amazing cryogenic JPI EDM 930

WAG: engine ground to frame and battery is being disrupted by vibration, force, or heat. Engine builds up a static charge, which skews ground to EDM. Every so often the static discharges, which allows temp sensors to work normally until static builds up again. Just a guess.

    Second GPS Unit

GPS system failure is wildly unlikely. There is a massive amount of redundancy built in. The only plausible scenario for a wide area outage would be space-based kinetic weapons attack to physically destroy multiple satellites, ie. an act of war. Unit failure is far more common. One sloppy...

    $150000 of Avionics Stolen.

There are always numerous used 430s for sale on eBay, usually for >$5K, so demand is still there. Probably easier to sell them without drawing attention.

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

Hopefully the system delivers an objective outcome based on law and facts, not what 12 people think of Baldwin and his politics.

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

IMO the point of contention will be #2. Defense will argue he had a reasonable belief his actions were safe, because the weapon had been verified as loaded with only dummy rounds by the armorer and safety coordinator. They will also probably argue that he did not pull the trigger...

Road Bump in Buying a Plane - No Place to Put It

Agreed. My point was in response to the assertion that people are intentionally overpaying just to save on taxes. Aircraft purchases are deductions, not credits. Your maximum tax savings are 37 cents on the dollar. Who would pay a higher price just to get 37% of the overpayment back? If...

In professions that must handle weapons under physical and mental stress, and may have to point weapons at people they have not decided whether to shoot yet, the consensus is that light triggers are less safe. US Department of Justice standards state that LEO pistols should have a trigger pull...

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

Apparently 2-3 pounds is the norm for colt peacemakers. I was surprised because 4 pounds is typically the minimum for military and LEO service handguns. Mil spec 1911 triggers are 4.75 lbs, according to the sources I found. Anyhow, 2 pounds is quite light, and greatly increases the chance of...

One thing I just read, in the NYT of all places: the trigger pull was 2 pounds. That is insane.

Here are the instructions to the grand jury for Baldwin's second indictment: The first indictment did include charges pertaining to Baldwin's role as producer, but that indictment was withdrawn due to numerous legal issues.

I'm not sure, but the elements of the indictment are explicit and clear.
