Found under a cabbage leaf in July 1951. Learn to fly with the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and soloed after just 6.5 hours at Reno-Stead Airport, Nevada because the instructor was too scared to fly with me any more. Got my Private Pilot's license at Mettetal Airport after just 45 hours because they wanted to get rid of me before I graduated from Cass Tech HS. Started the University of Michigan Flyers in 1969, got my instructor's rating to work my way thru college, and to make it more exciting to go to English class.
