Thanks for all the replies. Looks about 50/50. I do have backup headsets and a portable radio with external antenna. This is a 182Q by the way. I will probably see about hooking them back up next time she is in for something.
I am interested in opinions on this subject. When my audio panel was upgraded the speaker and microphone were not hooked up. I flew in the late 70’s and that is all I had, no headsets. My ap/ia went to take a test flight and didn’t grab his headset and asked why they weren’t hooked up. Until...
Interesting. I never thought of plane ownership this way. I am late 50's and always wanted to finish my PPL started in the 70's, but I knew renting was not for me. I like to take great care of my things and know they are going to work when I want them to. I resumed lessons and then bought a 182...
When I bought a year and a half ago I spent the 6 months prior comparing ads to vref. Anything at or under vref seemed to sell quickly. Some listings over vref never sold the whole time I was looking. The plane I bought was listed at 125. Vref 167. Purchase price 100. Seller was in it right, a...
I added a PMA450B during my recent panel upgrade. Kind of like a might as well thing, "while we are in there". First impressions are excellent. Clear and easy to use. I haven't even scratched the surface of everything it can do. Most of the cost of an audio panel is in the install so why not get...
Great to hear. In the Bluetooth setup make sure you check the auto reconnect feature. I missed that the first time I connected with everything else going on.
FWIW. My 182 had a shimmy when I bought it in 2018. It had a new lord dampener already. I had the McFarlane scissor kit installed and it was still there. Asked for the tire to be balanced and they said it was terrible, too bad to work with. Since I don’t like to play with tires or batteries I...
Thank you.
It is a GNX375. I haven’t tried to transfer the flight plan yet. I wanted to learn how to put it in the 375 first. Every thing I’ve read says it should work.
Not yet. I had to keep the old DG for the autopilot.
Yes, PMA450B. That was a last minute add on but it makes a huge difference in the sound quality. Can actually listen to tower in your left ear and atis in your right.
I recently upgraded part of my vintage panel. I wanted to add ADSB and WAAS GPS. The options are endless and I didn’t want to get carried away with things I don’t need right now. My old autopilot works as well as the radios.
I traveled a couple hundred miles and took my plane to Jesse Saint. He...
