    Voltage Regulator or Alternator issue?

Good point, I always leave the avionics switch off when doing this. I've done it quite a few times on 206's and 207's with out a problem, but you are right, there is a chance of letting the smoke out of the electrical equipment.

    Voltage Regulator or Alternator issue?

The first thing I would do would be to disconnect the field wire from the alternator. Then run a jumper wire from the field terminal on the alternator to the closest source of battery voltage. Run the engine up to around 1700 RPM and check out the engine monitor. If you get a high voltage...

As far as complying with 43.2, yes this engine will comply. The whole engine, including cylinders has approx. 1300hrs TTSN. I have the complete logs, and verified that these are the original cylinders. I knew the commies bought TCM and ECI, and recently found out that ECI no longer makes...

    School for Inspection Authorization

I went to Baker's. An easy choice, since my boss paid for me to go. :D It's definitely designed to get you to pass the test. More of memorizing the correct answers than focusing on learning the material, but if you meet the requirements for your IA, then you should already have a good...

    172E Project

Hi guys, I'm new here, but have been lurking for a while. Looks like a great forum with lots of valuable info. Here's some background on me, then my questions. I'm an A&P with IA. Also a Commercial SEL, SES, MEL currently working for a part 135 operation in New England. Used to fly full time...
