I just read that the FAA is adding another layer of complexity for student pilots. Apparently student pilot certificates will now have to come from the FAA after TSA background checks have been performed... as opposed to the traditional paper certificate issued by a DME. The article states this...

How did it end up working? Did the heater's thermostat help control overheating?

Just an observation... A fellow plans to fly 4-500hrs a year and hasn't considered a 182 (most would call the plane a commodity)... then sell in two years. That budget sure seems rather large for a 172/pa-28 as well. It looks as though someone is having a good laugh. I'm chuckling a little...

You will probably be exhausted after the practical. That's probably not the time to add something new to your flying. Just a suggestion... take them up one at a time for the first ride. It will help them become accustomed to being in a small plane (if they haven't before) and seeing that...

I'd say it's never too late to bring power back in, even if you only need it for a brief moment. I once landed a 172 into some wake turbulence behind a dash-8 and the wings started to roll during the round-out/flare. Power is what got me out of that... it was instant and I'm glad my hand was on...

I'm curious how you go about fixing missing airframe logs.

I was under the impression that we were in a buyers market. If that's the case, then a buyers belief would tend to carry some weight in regards to the value of a sale.

Scanning logbooks might cost a few dollars to have someone at a local Staples or any other office store take care of. It's not a big request... unless there's something the seller doesn't want you to know prior to arriving. I've made a couple trips that cost me a few dollars (and more...
