    GPS Interference Map

I came across this site today and thought I'd pass it along. It uses ADS-B data to display a map of GPS interference around the world. From the FAQ, it sounds like they update it every 24 hours: https://gpsjam.org

    How did you find aviation?

I got married, and my wife has a large family she likes to visit often, but they are two and a half hours away. At the time, we also lived five minutes from a very nice, small GA airport. It was (and still is) a much more interesting, and sometimes quicker, way for us to get from point A to B...

V-Tail Bonanza Hits Truck Near Pumpkin Center Lousiana

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere above, but a followup on Louisiana Aviator said the oil filter backed out.

    09J - Jekyll Island, GA.

Fun place. We stayed there about 8 years ago, but didn't get to fly our plane in, but it's on my list. There was a Waco there at the time giving flights if I recall.

    Gone West: bobmrg

Solid guy all around, super knowledgeable and will be missed. I didn't realize that he was in his 90's.

Help me pick the right plane for my mission

Happy Bonanza owner here, but I might own a 310 (turbo?) if this was my mission. The V35 is perfect for my family of three (plus small dog), but even with the larger baggage area of the later Bonanzas, I pretty much fill it up with just the three of us.

    Greetings and salutations

It seems like you guys have 1,000 airports over there and a bustling GA environment. I always enjoy flying up that direction when I can. Welcome!

How hot is too hot to fly?

Don't some of the composite aircraft have some sort of limitation on this, or am I making that up?

    Aircraft Operations at Midway Atoll

I remember taking a look on Google maps street view a while back, as someone mapped it on there, pretty neat place.

DroidEFB is another app option, although I don't have any recent experience with it.

    Androids or iSheep?

My primary tablet is an ancient Nexus 7 with the iFly GPS app, although the app supports iOS, Android and Windows. My iPad has had a thermal shutdown in the plane, but I've never had a problem with my Nexus. I use both platforms though and I'm on the lookout for a good Android tablet that would...

Dan Gryder is tweaking the NTSB

Apparently Dan Gryder was involved in a forced landing today. You can fast forward to 6:30 or so to see him talking about it while walking out of a corn field:

    Student Engine Out Goes Right

He kind of glosses over the running out of fuel part in the videos, but he does readily admit it in the description on the one where he discusses it; certainly a nice outcome under pressure.
