    Alternator Noise in Headset

Unfortunately I do not know if this is a new or old issue... not my plane.. yet, possibly. It is a plane I'm considering for a first plane and the issue is something the current owner mentioned. I will have to investigate more. Thanks for the info re: mounting of intercom panels causing a...

    Alternator Noise in Headset

I don't know if this is an obvious question or not.. ok.. it's not to me.. BUT.. what causes a significant amount of alternator noise from the strobes and beacons to come thru the headset? The plane in question is a Beech B23. Is this just a grounding issue?

    Marvel Mystery Oil

Having turned my fair share of wrenches building my Jeep I can attest to value and validity of WD-40 as a penetrating lubricant and rust inhibitor. Would never vouch for it as a fuel or oil additive though.

    Marvel Mystery Oil

I get the adding it to the oil during oil change.. but adding to the fuel? you won't see many flying elephants in Seattle.. maybe around Orlando... hear there is one based there.. lol

    Marvel Mystery Oil

This may sound like an odd question.. does anyone actually use this in their aircraft? I was talking with an owner of a '74 Beech C23 (180hp Lycoming) in Texas.. says he adds it to his fuel regularly and to oil at oil change every 50hrs. I'm very hesitant if not skeptical.. Any thoughts on this?

    Flying beyond TBOH

If i had the cash reserve then sure. But as a pilot who's looking to get into his first plane I'm thinking very carefully about the upfront expenditure and trying to balance the purchase cost against time before overhaul as well as needed maintenance and upgrades that come with buying an older...

    Flying beyond TBOH

I suppose when someone has a platform from which they can speak people will listen. I don't know much about Mike Busch.. in fact I never heard his name before last week. Still what I read made sense. But I'm not an A&P. What I do know is that if cars were put on the same kind of maintenance...

    Flying beyond TBOH

Just read an article of his on going beyond TBOH.. he apparently supports the notion of not fixing what isn’t broken. Thanks again

    Flying beyond TBOH

I’m in the middle of a discussion with other pilots and potential ownership partners about flying beyond TBOH. In particular with a Beech C23 Sundowner with a 180hp Lycoming O-360. There have been suggestions that as long as there’s no unusual oil consumption, no oil leaks and no metal in the...

    Partnership wanted - Denver Area

Looking for a partner (or two) for shared ownership of first plane. Something basic like a Cherokee 180. I had a similar post earlier this year but contact didn’t pan out. Hoping for better luck this time around.

Looking for A&P near Princeton, MN (KPNM)

I found a plane I’m seriously interested in located at Princeton Municipal airport in Princeton, Minnesota. Looking for a local A&P to perform a pre-buy inspection.

    Grumman AA1A 150hp Performance

very much! I try not to look at anything with less than 180hp.. but considering the 50% increase in hp and the bird in question is located at a field with an elevation over 7000ft I figured it was worth a look

    Grumman AA1A 150hp Performance

I haven't seen any RV-9s on the market and confess I don't know much about them. Since it's really just me and the wife and possibly a duffle bag with a change of cloths I'm not looking for really big useful loads. I like the PA28's but not keen on the idea of taking off with two-thirds fuel...
