I agree with what you've said here. My point was simply that if we're going to have this imaginary bubble surrounding the POTUS, it should be full time, not dependent on if POTUS is actually doing something useful (a topic which could open up an entirely new can of worms:rofl:).

It seems the point was: protect him when he's doing his job, ignore him during the in-between moments. If that's the point, it's pretty indefensible. It's not relevant what anyone thinks of the person doing the job (or how that person does the job) - that only becomes relevant at the polls...

As I recall, you're required to have a certain number of hours (3.0 I think) of dual instruction specifically in prep for your check ride, within 90 days of the check ride. Since it sounds like you're close to your ride, keep that in mind; it doesn't have to be the last 3.0 hours in your log book.

Yes, this is what I said - and since web sites don't conduct flights of any kind, they're irrelevant to FAA enforcement. I'm not saying with certainty there is a problem, I'm only saying the FAA is strict on anything that smells like holding out. That, coupled with typical knee-jerk reactions...

The FAA doesn't get involved in the legality (or not) of a web site, since web sites don't operate aircraft (yet?). Their silence on the matter is not an implied opinion on the legality of flight operations that stem from such sites, however. I could open a site offering paid seat tickets...
