    Class G to 14,500ft

Thanks! I never would have thought of that

    Class G to 14,500ft

Why does class G extend up to 14,500ft? I asked a few AGI's/IGI's/CFI's but they all say terrain. Why protect terrain? Any other reason(s)?

    0hrs-PPL in 1.5 Months

I don't have 0 but may as well. I have not flown in a year and due to procrastinating in getting my PPL, I have one and a half months to do so. I will then end up with a month to do it in thanks to two wisdom tooth extractions coming up. Any advice on how to achieve the PPL goal in such a...

    Helicopter Using "fake" N-Number

On a related note, can a private helicopter get an exemption from a presidential TFR? The TFR "only" allowed LE, military, and DoD aircraft. This belongs to HeliFlite.

    Helicopter Using "fake" N-Number

I just figured out that my computer doesn't display the first table for reserved aircraft! :dunno: I checked on my phone and found that this is N363G, as seen in the first table. Sucks. Anyway to delete this thread? Why discuss a resolved problem? Stupid IE explorer.

    Helicopter Using "fake" N-Number

Okay so it's not "fake" but it doesn't belong to the helicopter and appears to be removable. Reviewing my videos and pictures, it appears that the N-number is either a magnet or giant sticker. It's lighter than the rest of the body. It was cool watching it but when I checked the N number...

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

Yeah GN is true. However I think that I'll have to make my position known soon. If it doesn't work out then I guess the A&P will never happen. I can't afford to drive 50 miles to the next airport with a shop. I don't even have my own car. The shop does good work but I can't help but feel...

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

Actually the guys with the equipment don't use it. Next time you're in the shop look around for people with safety goggles, face masks, gloves, etc. You won't find any! I do have the heat resistant gloves and that's just about all that anybody uses. Fiberglass in the eye is a pain from what I've...

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

A quick update: I brought up a new schedule with the boss and informed him that I cannot come as often because I have to take a (paying) job so that I can pay off my tuition that's still due. He said okay and did not have any questions or comments. As for safety equipment I've been using my...

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

Well not really. My mom got laid off and none of us have insurance right now. Trying to deal with SS but that's a mess, as usual. Well not having insurance is a lie, we have car insurance

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

Forgot to mention that! It's not a formal program at all. I went there in June, kept asking, kept coming back, finally in august they agreed and I started in September. I like that it isn't formal simply because of what I've learned. Plus the mechanic I've been learning from went to school and...

    Apprenticeship and Pay?

I've been a helper at the local airport for about 3 months now. Learning a lot, loving it, no complaints. However, I am not paid. Apparently a lot of people find this to be messed up. Pilots, coworkers, family, friends, etc. One aircraft owner was offering me my pay per hour for a few hours to...

    Turboprop Lack of Noise

Hang around more! I saw the landing but had no camera at the time! Such a beautiful and slow one too! The most exciting that I've seen was this, two 369E's, PGPD's 520N, and mini mustang.

    Turboprop Lack of Noise

For a jet+ a prop I am always surprised by DHC8's lack of noise. This Pilatus PC-12 took off of a 2400 ft runway at a decent power setting and was very quiet! I was disappointed. Out of W00, only see one or two every year or two! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEILuqrNPc I'm new and green...

    Ignorant Homebuyer & Airplane Noise

I took it (the only way that I could stay calm was to see it this way) as something one says to purposefully tick you off to get a reaction that they can throw in your face. Hopefully he isn't that racist and sexist but if he is that's his ultimate demise. I respect if you hate a man for the man...
