You definitely want the SV-320 backup battery, that will power the HDX in the event you lose ships power. The auto pilot panel is not essential, but nice to have. I have an RV-12 with Skyveiw touch and everything else on your list except the AP panel. Mine is also a 912ULS. Love my Dynon.

Just one of many life skills that are the cornerstone of common sense. So many folks these days don't have these kinds of skills, they can only call a professional ( plumber). I'm sure you can get your son up to speed on these things.

Stabilator and anti servo tabs sure look like a -12. I did look up the N number and it is an RV-12 with a Viking 110 engine.

So sad to see this. Condolences to all related and involved. Always hate to see RV-12 accidents, as I also have a -12.
