What's your go-to Concealed Carry weapon?

I've heard of a grandma over on the Yukon who was picking berries when she was surprised by a big grizzly. She turned and ran, fired a .22 over her shoulder and kept going into town. No one believed her story of being chased by a bear, but on investigation there was indeed a monster grizz laying...

What's your go-to Concealed Carry weapon?

With the bears moving through town before winter sets in, these days I'm carrying a Glock 29.4 with hard cast ammo.

Handheld transceiver recommendations? Icom, Yaesu, or Sporty's?

I have the Yaesu 450. I haven't used it as an emergency radio in the air yet but it works well for ground to air comms and checking AWOS. Lives mostly in my flight bag but seems sturdy enough.

Shrike Commander in Alaska crashed because it was fueled wrong.

Just to chime in here having lived in Aniak and saw multiple aircraft fueled from the truck - at least while we were there the fuel truck operators would put one of those fueling mats designed to keep the hose off from rubbing on the leading edge over. My guess is that the fueler slapped the mat...

Found this over on the Van's Air Force forums from the maker of the CQ1 (from here about halfway down the page)

    CMW CQ1 in ear headset

They don't come with the Compley's. The one's that worked best were the Compley Professionaly series - they are a little longer than the standard ones which helps with the noise isolation. These are available from amazon. Card Machine Works also sells sample packs of the foam tips.

    CMW CQ1 in ear headset

I still use them for the majority of my flying. Every now and then I'll use the DC One-X's just for the bluetooth music, but typically I'll go with the CQ1's. As far as noise canceling goes, I haven't had much success with the stock yellow tips (with either the Halo's or the CQ1's). The tips...

Anyone have an Aspen E5 Installed?

When we installed the dual G5s in the 206, all the vacuum components weighed around 10 pounds. Not as much as I thought at first, but the reliability over the vac system is incalculable. edit - oops I see this an E5 thread and not a G5 one. Still the vac parts weigh what they weigh.

Another 2020 Mandate Request for Opinions

You will need a WAAS GPS source. This can be an panel installted GPS, or an internal GPS on the ADSB unit. So at a minimum you would need to install a WAAS antenna for the ADSB unit.
