    Would this bother you, N/A

OK, now another guy listening on speaker phone doing real estate transactions- so excited to hear about the pool and the view from the condo. Guess I just need to get out more!

Don't know- I just recognised it as Polish. Do people think that since it's a foreign language that most would likely not understand they can speak loudly without concern. I did surprise a couple in front of me in an elevator once who were speaking Russian. I just casually said "this is my...

Well, it just happened again- waiting in a lounge for service on my car. Lady speaking loudly in Polish over her cell phone- very loudly. Twenty minutes. Do people generally not have any situational awareness any more?

Yes, she talked for 30-45 minutes. No one said anything. Conductor came by and spoke with her. She stopped for a bit, then called her friend and spoke loudly after he left, and then finally quit.

    Fighter Pilot Shortage

Air to ground, sure. Flying circles in CAP for hours in legacy fighters, not so much. Merge- not likely.

    Spin training

Of course if you have even partial panel then fly the panel. However, no vacuum no gyro planes, a spin might be the better option due to spatial D as above. At least in a spin your descent rate might be around 500FPM as compared to a lawn dart

    Spin training

Actually, I've heard this before: is it better to exist the clouds in an uncontrolled over speed spiral dive, or at slow speed and descent rate in a spin? I'd take the control in a spin knowing that I can exit the spin in less than 500 feet.

    Fun IFR Platform ?????

You are correct of course. Mine has a 430 and stec 30. If I were concerned that it made that much difference in my rec aerobatics I'd go on a diet!

This was no more or less than someone texting or talking on their phone during a movie, or the knob who has to stand directly in front of the weight rack and block access so he can observe his form in the mirror. The conductor dealt with it and the behavior stopped. This was not a societal or...

    Fun IFR Platform ?????

You can get a fully IFR equipped Extra 300L with Aspen and a Garmin GTN and fully ADS-b compliant. And, you won't tumble any gyros with the AHRS. Can also get an STEC autopilot installed as well.

The train was pretty full. I think somebody did complain because the conductor came over and spoke with her at length. Still, listening to her speak to her BF in loud Creole for over an hour did get old. Prob should let it go, but it was annoying for sure.

Was on a short Amtrak trip today. Woman opposite was on prolonged conversation in Creole (not the issue), but loud and long. She had earbuds in, but was talking very loudly, on and on. Went on for better part of an hour. Other surrounding pax were obviously bothered. Conductor came by to check...

    Bonanza turboprop groundspeed

Maybe. Figure a turbine Bonanza costs in the range of around $600/hr while a turbine Baron or Duke would be in at least $1000/hr burning around 70gph. All three have pretty short endurance due to inability to carry a lot of fuel. A KA probably costs around 12-1500/hr including all of the...

    Bonanza turboprop groundspeed

For the cost of converting a P-baron or a Duke you could buy an older King Air C-90. I think the Duke conversion was over a million. The problem with these is maintenance on an orphaned plane (out of business on the turbine Bonanzas) and they are really endurance limited since they can only...

    Bonanza turboprop groundspeed

The company that made the turbine bonanza conversion is no longer in business. TAS is around 200 down low, but obviously increases in the teens. It lacks pressurization, which can be a drawback compared to a Meridian. Endurance is also a bit limited, even with the tip tanks. Even without the...
