    We don't get any of the MD/DC aircraft out here at LAX. Kinda sad to see these go. We're replacing them with the 717's. Probably won't get to work on those either...

    Scholarships!

    Would like to see scholarships more catered towards late 30's males that have dependents, work full time and want to persue their life long dream... Just saying most scholarships are for women, kids and minorities, even though a am a minority myself.

    My vote would be Rod Machado's Private Pilot Handbook also. That's what I've been reading. Then again, I'm a complete noob that hasn't even started flying yet but I'm using this book to prep me...

    Took a ride last night...

    As a kid I got to fly in "909" (B-17) about a dozen times! Along with a couple different B-25's,two different P-51's, T-28, T-6, PT-22,and a Tiger Moth. Yeah I was lucky!:goofy:

    Biggest Barrier to Entry for Becoming a Pilot?

    MONEY by far is my biggest barrier! But I WILL get a PPL and hopefully more. Two of my three kids want to learn to fly. My son is five and he wants to start NOW! My avatar is him in a 757 with that ear to ear smile!!!:D

    Someone is a new pilot today.

    Congratulations! Must be a great feeling. I remember how I felt when I got my A&P cert. It felt like a million bucks! Can't wait to start PPL training and re-live that feeling! Good for you!!!
