Anyone else spot an A380 in the Chicago area recently?

Whew - Grant, thanks - we had begun to question what we saw. The one we saw over Naperville was northeast bound into ORD. No markings of any note, but unmistakably HUGE. And the engines do not sound like anything else. At least we are going crazy in unison! :wink2:

Anyone else spot an A380 in the Chicago area recently?

Last week I swear I saw one over Buffalo Grove, and yesterday my wife and brother in law spotted one over Naperville. No one is doing commercial service into ORD with one.... Before you question our sanity, they are kind of hard to mistake, and when you hear it the sound is as unique as the...

    KSBM - Final Approach Restaurant

We've been told they shifted their breakfast hours, so if you plan on going there for breakfast call ahead. I was also told they will open early for a group. An awesome place!

    Partnerships: Where to look

All I can do is relate my experience. I had put my Cherokee up for sale, but was truly hoping to find a partner. And - I did. A guy I knew fairly well called and asked about the airplane, then asked if I'd consider a partnership. So - never hurts to ask!! In my case it worked and we're just...

    Three unique things...

    1. Made a skydive from a Boeing 727, in which I captured a fantastic photo of my (then) girlfriend (now wife) and her brother. The entire thing was caught on film from a King Air flying formation, and was on National Geographic Explorer.... 2. Was in a 201 person skydiving formation, in which I...

Can a pilot decowl the airplane

Devils advocate - what if it is a flying club and you're a member - then aren't you technically a partner, meaning owner?

    Youth Headsets

We bought my son the ones from Sporty's - I think they are Sigtronics. They come with a headband that allows them to fit him as he grows. Great headset.

    Flying with a New Baby

Our son has been flying since 7 weeks. We didn't go very high and made him a small pseudo-headset. He fell asleep. We had a pluggy for him to keep the ears clear - worked fine. My only advice is go for a test flight, see how she does, and don't make the commitment to the long trip until you...

Detroit to Alaska in a Cessna 120, 1974

Great story! A young guy named Jeff Hersom just did Key West to Anchorage in his Cessna 150 - all in one trip. About a month ago. Then flew commercial back to Memphis, where he had been living, and put all his stuff in a U-Haul trailer and drove back up to Anchorage. I told him he needs to...
