I don't understand the FAA's logic on antidepressants

I don't take any, but if I did, what difference would the cause make? I've often thought I'd like to try them though to see what difference they make. My thinking is that if it's safe to drive a car on them, then it should be safe to fly- unless maybe you're flying an F-16 down the Grand...

I don't understand the FAA's logic on antidepressants

I probably do not understand what medical depression is. But, the question is, what is so dangerous about flying on "happy pills"? I imagine there are millions of drivers out there on them, and I would consider driving a car on a mid town freeway during rush hour to be every bit as demanding...

I don't understand the FAA's logic on antidepressants

It seems like if you want more depressed pilots in the air, you wouldn't let them take medication and visa versa.

Do you "psych" yourself out before a flight?

Intentionally go fly when the winds are up beyond your comfort zone. And if the wind is coming straight down the main runway, do touch and goes on the cross wind runway. It may make you nervous at first but will end up giving you a lot of confidence.

    Meteor Crater.

I think if a guy maintained good airspeed, dipping down in there is no problem. The guys in the 150 got in there and started circling and couldn't get out. They ran out of gas.

Flying VFR in rain with 3000-6000 ceiling

I never fly in rain unless I can see through and beyond it.

CFI task: Flight at minimum controllable airspeed (slow flight)

Just out of curiosity, what is done with fuel that's been taken off of an airplane?

    No go too conservative?

The AOPA site has ceiling/vis forecasts up to 48 hrs out.

    No go too conservative?

How bout flying and coming back late Sunday if the forecast for Monday calls for low ceilings. They should have a good idea by Sunday.

    Go-NoGo weather

I would call Flight Watch if possible in the mountains, and get the weather at points on down the line. If it's just a band of clouds 50 miles wide, why not?

    Touch and Go fees?

I've never landed at an airport in the great plaines region that charged for anything but gas. I even landed at Woodward, OK once because I couldn't get home due to T-storms. They put it in a hanger for the night, and I went and got it the next day- no charge. Here's a better one: Landed at...

Yet another reason I'm glad to live in Oklahoma.
