A little gathering at the farm this Saturday

Tom didn't have time to take any video yesterday. Be sure not to include any photos of me in your video unless you check with me first. :)
Will do! The only one I was maybe thinkin' was the one with us after the flight, is that o.k.? Can't really avoid shots of the back of your head in the plane. Is a pic with the tail number o.k.?

Sure, you can use the one I posted, and the tail number. :) Back of my head is okay too. :)

And I don't have a YouTube account with no plans to anytime soon, so it will only be viewable to some friends and family on Facebook.

Nope, not gonna do it. One of the great set-up lines of the year, but not gonna do it.

It's a delicate balance - old enough to exercise sound judgment, young enough to care.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

My video should be available for download here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/74530077/Citabria Flight 9.22.12.wmv (Let me know if it doesn't work; I'll figure out some other way.) I know it's not great, but my camera sucks at video, and I kinda forgot to focus on recording because I was just having too much fun.
Worked for me! Great video! I'm jealous. I've gone up with Diana before, but until I shed some excess mass, I don't think we're doing any aerobatics!

Sounds like you guys had a great time! Sorry I couldn't make it. Life keeps getting in the way of life.

Jim, thank you! That was a very nice video! :) You did great recording, especially considering that was your first aerobatic flight. I'd forgotten about the slip on final. :)

I wonder if there is some way I can save the video on my Dropbox account?

It slips a whole lot better than the Warrior.

Another question for you. I wonder if I can link that to my Facebook page? Would that be okay?

Oh, and a disclaimer for my landing....it wasn't really as bumpy as it looked. :D :D :D

Randy, I used to slip our Cherokee 140 and also the Cherokee 160 I flew, and they didn't slip quite as well either. Then there's the Skyhawk slipping with flaps debate that I won't start. :D

Maybe it's a good thing though as it doesn't freak the passengers out so bad ;)

Lost and found...

I found a small, black camera case after everyone left. Sue said it wasn't theirs, so did anyone lose one?

Oh, and one more photo of me and Sue that was on Tom's iPhone.

Make SURE TOM knows how much I enjoy flying with him.....:)

Have him look on the desk, in the hangar, too, under the oblong post-it note...

When you click the link, you should be able to download it directly to your computer and put it wherever, including dropbox.

Absolutely! If you link it, it will work. If you download that one and then post to Facebook, it won't accept it due to copyright issues from the music. When I put mine on Facebook, I had to make a separate video without music because of that.

And yeah, sorry 'bout that. :) Landings always look waaaay bumpier on film. I guess I should have put in a disclaimer to protect the innocent.

That was probably mine that blew away when we taxied out. Just toss it; No sense in hanging on to it. It's just an old generic case from a different camera, so it never really fit my current camera anyway.

He enjoyed it, as well. :) All your landings in the Citabria looked great!

Found it...that wasn't necessary, and we would have given it back if we would have found it in time. Thank you. :)

One more photo of your take-off. We were all amazed. Too bad we weren't filming that. The audio would have been a chorus of all of us going..."Wow." It was impressive. :) I can't remember if you lifted off before the take-off bump. You didn't need much runway at all, and you sure climbed out well.

(1) The post-it "felt right" though I know it wans't necessary :)
(2) We were 800 undergross. Just 9 lbs per HP. :)

wow, took off on 36, that looks like a bird dog climb profile...

Nice. You're a good stick Diana. Very nice!

I didn't watch the video since acro makes me puke. Were any hammerheads performed?

That's what it looked like to us, too.

Awwww. What a nice thing to say. Thank you. :)

I'll make you a better deal. You can do them by yourself while I narrate the air show and video the performance from a chair on Walt's observation deck with another bowl of gumbo close at hand.

No, but you and I could do some after gumbo at Walt's in a few weeks. :D

Ah... riders. I used to love to take newcomers up for a spin in my Starduster when I had it. Always loved those brave souls who said "You can't make me sick". An outside loop will do it every time to the uninitiated... :wink2:

Walt, you are surely one of the most sharing people I know, but I believe I will gladly allow you to retain that experience for yourself.

---

My only acro ride was a very mild one with Diana, at Gaston's, but it surely must have been a mistake to do that with a hangover! Diana was very gracious and did not make me barf. :D

No way, I did 20-30 mins of nonstop acro and did not get sick. Once I upload video you can tell me if we did an outside loop but I know we did rolls (many), inverted flight, loops, inverted loops, cuban 8's, split S, stall, stalling turn (?) half-something or other and many more. In a glider.

Oh, that explains it! I wondered why you were so quiet that day, and you said something about having a headache.

You told me that he would give a woodpecker a headache.

Another question...(I'm not real bright, as I'm sure Wayne will attest to ;))...now that it's in my Dropbox folder, can I link it on my Facebook page via Dropbox?

Glad to see parts of America still alive Diana. Nice job. :)
