A little gathering at the farm this Saturday

My instructor canceled for tomorrow, so I'm free. What time were you planning for arrivals at LLU?

We're not really too structured today, so anytime would work for us. If Tom or I can't get away, then someone else will run pick you up. :) I'm glad you'll be able to make it. :)

We monitor/use 122.9, just like Lamar's frequency. I'll shoot you a PM with my phone number...you can call or text me. :)

FYI for those landing at Lamar, the local cropduster does not have a radio and he may be out working today unless it gets too windy for him. He's pretty good about watching for traffic. Kevin's a really nice guy. :)

The runway isn't too bad now, but the taxiway under the oak trees has soft spots and there is also standing water where you crossed east of that when you parked at the tie down area last time. It may be better by noon tomorrow, but I'd recommend landing at Lamar for now. I can get the Citabria in and out okay now.
Lamar it is. We'll overyfly the farm...and warble the propellors...

Hope the day turns pretty and the runway dries quickly. You guys have fun, the annual and exhaust system replacement is almost done so I'll be ready for the October fly-around in TX. Try to keep the "party animal" IL contingent out of the sauce.

Okay, we're officially out! Both here and Antigo :(. Hope y'all have a great time, and hopefully we can make the next one!

@Bruce C: What time are you planning on arriving? I was tthinkin' we could try to arrive about the same time so they don't have to make multiple trips.

Target is 1300 Local. Think we're going to have a look see over 08MO though, first....Just filed.

Exactly what I was thinking. A couple low approaches at 08MO then head to LLU. What N-number will you be calling on? I'll be using the call-sign "Muleflight" followed by 3 numbers. Not sure exactly which plane I'll have yet.

Sorry i couldnt make it, just too windy for me to attempt a landing at Lamar with the x wind, so my whole flying activities got canceled today once again due winds.

Thank you Diana, Tom, Jim, David, Jesse, Barb, and (the other)Bruce for a very nice afternoon. :)

Thank you everybody for such a fun day; It was awesome meeting ya'll! I'm already anxiously awaiting the next fly-in.

Glad y'all had a great time! I didn't do any flying today, but Kent and Kelsey flew down to Schaumburg after Antigo and we had dinner together! That's a good looking Mooney he's flying!

Tom and I had a fun two days with you all and we appreciate your coming to see us. Sue's cookies were yummy!

Jesse left this morning and David just now left. David had an aerobatic ride and then flew the Citabria while I rode along. :)

I'll post photos later this afternoon, after my nap. :D

We're sorry you and Leslie couldn't make it.

Did Kent buy a Mooney?

Did Kent buy a Mooney?

No. Kent's uncle passed a few months ago leaving behind his 1996 Mooney Ovation and Kent is trying to sell it for his aunt. They don't want it sitting around unloved, unflown, and depreciating quickly.

I believe Kent should do all he can to ensure that the best return is gotten for the plane; key steps:

1. Fly it a lot;
2. Price it at, say $600,000.00

:D

Well, he's definitely doing (1)! His aunt is the one to set the price, though.

BTW, I'm working on convincing him to come to Fall Gaston's! He's reticent to fly onto grass because of the gear doors, but knows that Mountain Home is an alternative!

Two out of three ain't bad. ;)

It is a bit far for me, but what is the difference between supper and dinner? I am not sure if I have ever had supper. :dunno:

It's a Southern 'thang. Weekdays, dinner is the big evening meal. On Sunday dinner is around noon, right after church and supper is a small meal in the evening.

During the 4 years I spent living in the dorms in college in Texas, dinner was the noon meal on Sunday. No evening meal served, so you either cooked (illegally) in the dorm (students did not have access to the kitchens), order in pizza or go out.

For someone from New York, this was definitely culture shock to me. Sundays for me meant a leisurely brunch of lox, bagels, cream cheese, etc 10:30 to noon am, reading the Sunday paper, perhaps watching the news-ish talk shows, all the while discussing where we should make reservations for dinner.

Nobody in TX gives a fat-rats about what yankees think.

So anyway, I'm working on photos and here are the first few:

I think that second picture should be Bruce's FaceBook cover photo, if he had a FaceBook page, that is!

He does. :)

There were a lot of surprises yesterday, and here is one of them. :) He is the master of his machine.

Again, thank you soooooo much for that! I did not expect doing anything of the sort. Definitely the most fun I've had flying.
You're welcome. It was a fun flight. :) Here's a picture of you and David.

Did anybody get any useable footage or shots of my aerobatic flight? I'm editing my footage, and would like to put any external shots in as well.

Tom didn't have time to take any video yesterday. Be sure not to include any photos of me in your video unless you check with me first. :)
