It's time to start doing some panel upgrades in my Mooney. Does anyone have recommendations for a good avionics shop in the California Bay Area?

I'm based at RHV, but I don't mind flying/driving around a bit to find a shop that will do good quality work.
 
I used Executive Autopilot at KSAC for my Mooney's panel rebuild. They did a great job and are quite reasonable to work with. Done on schedule too. They have since fixed my S-Tec 30 as well. I recommend them. Ask for Dan Casey. execap.com

The flying club I belong to uses LAC at SJC quite often and I hear good things about them.
 
I'm new to this forum so I'm confused. I posted a reply in this thread two days ago and it said it went to moderation to be approved. I suspect it's because I imbedded photos of my panel in the body of the thread. I would have attached them, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Don't know why it's still not in this thread.

Anyhow, the long and short of my vapor post was, I used Executive Autopilots over at KSAC to do my complete panel rebuild on my vintage Mooney and was completely satisfied. Fair prices (for California) good craftsmanship and work done on time. Talk to Dan Casey there. I would put a link to their site, but I'm afraid I'll end up in moderation again.:rolleyes:

J&R Electronics at Livermore. He's VERY slow, but does good work.
AirTronics at Calaveras. Good shop, not perfect but stands behind his work.
San Luis Avionics at San Luis Obispo. I've never used them, but heard good things about them.
I've also heard there's a very good shop up at the Lincoln airport.
 
I've used Aerial at KRHV, since it's the on-field shop. So far, good experience, but I haven't had anything major done yet.

A friend and co-worker did do a complete glass panel and ditch all vacuum with them in an A36. My understanding he's been quite happy. (Triple Aspen combined with a Garmin stack and a large engine monitor whose brand I forget.)
