I have a Telex S50 headset, the earcup is torn, the mike boom is flopping around and the grommet where the wiring comes in has fallen out so it is only a question of time until the wiring cracks.

Anyone knows of a independent shop that refurbishes these ? I imagine I could send it to the company, I just wonder whether there are some independent options out there.

Dunno, but I had significant damage to an older Telex, sent it to them with a note asking for an estimate, and I got the headset back looking almost new, with another note: "Thanks for your business."

Sounds like I'll go with the factory option then.

Well, checked with them. No more freebies, they farmed out the repairs and it is a $250 flat fee up front before they touch it. That answers that, I'll just wait until it falls apart completely and replace it with something else.
