I can't seem to bring up any of the NOAA pages this morning. I get "Firefox can't find the server at www.crh.noaa.gov."

Does anyone know what's going on?

Ummm... no. Maybe try the site I posted?

Actually I was trying http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dtx, but http://www.crh.noaa.gov/apx doesn't work either. Those are the individual weather office websites. From the error message (Address not found) it actually seems that the NOAA DNS server is down so the hostname can't be resolved.

Either that, or they moved to a different server. But I don't recall seeing an announcement to that effect.

Works for me -- you behind a firewall?

No, I'm at home, and I haven't had a problem with any other sites (including ADDS). Maybe there's a router down in my area, and my packets aren't getting to the NOAA DNS server.

I'll bet that was it. I logged onto Wayne State's VPN and presto! I can get into those sites. It could well have been a Comcast router malfunctioning, there have been a lot of glitches with the local Comcast network lately.

Sorry for the false alarm.

Working in this part of the state.

I had problems this AM (09AUG) for about 15 minutes involving complete denial to any of their pages. After that issue went away, any attempt to access any of their pages redirected me to the NOAA home page. After about 15 minutes total everything back to normal.

The NOAA home page now looks like a cartoon or maybe a social website...but maybe that's because I hadn't been to their home for a while.
