Phenom 100/300 guys/gals?

I have been flying a Phenom 100 for about a year, and am going to get a 300 type late summer. I was wondering home many other Phenom typed people are on here?

The users forum for the Phenoms is great, at $250 a year, not so great.

Jason flies one, I believe (or at least dispatches for it). I saw one on the ramp in SHD once, if that counts.
 
I fly right seat on a Phenom 100 at Purdue (not typed...yet). We rotate copilots (students) on trips so I don't get to fly it much but I've flown a few trips. It's a great airplane.

No actually I'm looking to see if others on here are flying them. The user forum has a few guys on it, but they charge 250 bucks a year, and there is about a post a day on it, at best. I figure if there are some more people over here flying them we could bounce issues off of each other.

Comming from someone with CGNU graduate as a user name :wink2:

Like the signs/outlets switch labels on the panel or battery starts which take forever for the #2 gen to come down into limits before starting the #1 engine? Yeah there are a few quirks but it flies pretty well otherwise.
 
The plane goes into service, and I the BCU and generators are getting replaced. I wonder if they have a fix for the Gen 2 OVLD issue when you batt start? The Phenom 300 BCU is amazing, so much smoother brake application than the 100. Its a little exciting the first time you put the brakes on when the runway is contaminated.

Unless he owns the jet I wouldn't consider it bragging, probably not bringing home Lebron James money as a little jet pilot :D Sounds fun though, I would rather do that than fly for the airlines (sorry airline pilots)
 
Never flew a Phenom but is a type in the EMB 145 close ? Brought one home from the factory once too.

That ought to be a pretty good story - perhaps routine for you, but I know I'd love to hear it, bet I am not alone in that.

I don't think so, gross weight difference of about 42,000lbs.

Just a few lbs.

I flew the Phenom from San Jose Dos Campos as well. One of the best flights of my life. Stayed a day in St Martin and got to land there over the beach.

Delivering jets could be a fun gig, but I dont speak the proper language for Brazil. Maybe once they open up in florida.
 
What kind of 'mission' do you regularly fly in the 100 ?

The 'little jets' have plenty of detractors who get all hung up about payload limitations, I would be interested to hear how the Phenom is doing in real-life usage.

How is that 'dark cockpit' system working out ?

We have been flying mainly short trips (LAF-MSN-LAF, LAF-LOU-LAF, LAF-JVY-LAF) but have done a few longer ones too (LAF-APF-CHA-LAF, LAF-GSO-LAF). The crew that flew the APF trip had to stop in CHA for gas on the way back.

The cockpit is extremely well thought out and I really like the clean design. The 'dark cockpit' seems to work well, just don't move the SIGNS/OUTLET switch to the top position (PED-BELTS/OFF) at night. It illuminates the courtesy light and the air stair lights for 5 minutes which is really distracting at night since you can't turn them off (they are on a timer).

One thing I noticed was that the flaps extend very very very slowly. Flaps 1 (10 degrees) takes a good 15 seconds which we call for on the taxi out prior to the "before takeoff" checklist.

I'm a former military aviator, all I know is a dark cockpit, I love this one.

I learned the peds-belts bit on my first flight, that was at night, never again does that switch move. No real reason too, its small, I can yell.

I put the flaps out and set the trim before I roll, so the slow flaps isn't a real issue for me. Being single pilot its all set before taxi, ,i just have to drive and cram powers.

If you want to look, N206AH is my tail. I do alot of short stuff in the NE but ive flown down and back from niagara falls to houston. There is payload limits, but only when your max on the passengers, and for me that is rare. For a eastern half of the us aircraft its great. It did great in our Buffalo NY winter and this year was a bad one.

All in all i love the aircraft, as does its owner. Who is looking to get a Phenom 300. I test flew that ant WOW that things a hot rod, at least for me. A mach .7 climb and its doing 1,400 fpm the whole time going the MMO of the phenom 100. With the auto ground spoilers and carbon brakes the 300 stops shorter than the 100, go figure.

I can't speak for all light jets, but so far this thing has done all it was supposed to do and then some. Its not like a recip, the numbers in the book are the worst case, unlike the best case unattainable numbers of our cessna 400TT (columbia).

Buffalo to Teterboro is 55 minutes and thats with full pax and 3/4 fuel for lots of holding. I fly that alot.

Yeah that is a frustrating switch. Really stinks to inadvertently select the top position at night and go back to the middle since the lights are on the 5 minute timer.

Hi everybody, I'm new here, I don't know if this should be a new post or not, but this was the only post on this site related to phenom 100s that I could find, so I thought it would be a good place to start.

Does anybody have a PDF or image of the full cockpit of the phenom 100 with enough resolution to see all the buttons / knobs/ switches and appropriate labels?
Like a training poster.
I'd like to start studying the layout (I have a copy of the checklist already).
I may be moving into that plane soon, not sure yet, but I'd like to be able to flow through the checklist the next time that I am given the opportunity to fly it.

Former military and now flying single pilot in a jet...living the dream man.

@HPNPilot1200 how much do they charge you students to fly that thing?
 
I went to Purdue in the 90s when we had a Beechjet and two Kingairs for the same mission. Their OC is all single pilot, the trips are all university business, so there was no added cost beyond a normal class, which was run like an airline ground school. I don't know what it costs now.
