Sunday looks to be rather benign. Plans for lunch somewhere?

Sure, got a new toy to test so may as well get lunch.

What's the new toy?

Cabelas? Pueblo? Goodland?

Tony? Alan? Mari?

9U4 is a bit further than I was planning - 2 hours each way for me.

If weather in the hills looks okay we could also do 9U4 and then to a fine Mexican lunch about 7 miles west.
I thought I had been to (or at least heard of) most of the airports in WY. I guess not.

I'm off Sunday so I could be a designated passenger again to wherever people decide.

I'm okay with anywhere - haven't visited Cabela's in awhile...

Early weather on Ch. 9-2 indicates not great to the north (some snow on the NE corner of Colorado) and completely clear along the Front Range. Doesn't look all that great going north west to Dixon (9U4).

SNY is showing 1500 ft scattered, light snow & mist from 9-noon. Swell. For the first time in a while there's not wicked winds but we get snow instead.

I vote PUB due to weather. Flip a coin to see who takes Mari?

I'll be at FTG about 10

Oh wait, you mean Sunday as in TODAY. I'm not even in town, sorry! I thought you were talking about next Sunday.

SNY currently reporting clear but forecast is for low ceilings, light snow, and mist ending around 9 am local. We might be able to get in but then again, we might not with a 500' scattered layer forecast for 11 am.

PUB or GLD might be just a bit better.

I'm voting for PUB because it's the weekend so there won't be as many zoomies flying around, and haven't been down there in ages.

Okay then, ...PUB today and somewhere else next Sunday.

Excellent....and there's always pax room someplace...

Hope you had a better flight than I did today. Both the engines flamed out in the Twin Cessna, and we had to blow the gear down...

I guess Clark didn't tell you why I couldn't make it today...

In an earlier message you said you were out of town.

Clark - after I parked the cherokee I came looking to see if you needed help with the brakes but you were already gone.

I was out of town in Wichita at FlightSafety. I was flying the sim while you were flying your airplanes. Our last maneuver was a bit of "fun". We took off, both engines failed and then the gear didn't come down so we made like a small airplane and did a power off visual approach. The 680 actually glides pretty well until the gear and flaps come down.

Mark was working on his Skyhawk so we talked for awhile before Roy stopped by with his new supercharged Cadillac. Had to admire that for awhile...

Sounds like Mari had an interesting day in the box.

I was chillin' in MIA all day yesterday waiting for a flight home after a week with my sweetie on Norwegian Cruise lines - 25th anniversary for us ... but maybe next Sunday? (peeks at the club schedule - Dakota is available)

Greg. Remember when we flew to Sidney, NE and Cabelas and drooled in their gun room looking at those beautiful Colt Single Action Army's? That was a fun day.

Darn close to "the perfect day" :)

Sidney this coming Sat or Sunday (wx permitting)?

I have the Dakota reserved for Sunday mid-day - fingers crossed for good weather.

Hmmm, two Dakota's, one conventional and one Franken. We should be able to tote along all the designated passengers who might show and whatever they may buy at Cabela's (short of a gun safe).

Haha, Sidney. I guess it's been long enough since I was forced to spend many a day in the FBO at Sidney. I wonder if Ed and Kelly are still there.

Agreed - got to check it out one day waiting for a magneto repair about that long ago - good folks at SNY.
