Does anyone know when it comes out?

From their Twitter account:

The new season airs on History Television in January 2011. We are still confirming the date so stay tuned!

I swear I have not been under a rock. Why did I not know about this series. It looks pretty neat!

So, seriously, how long has this series been around for? What network was it on? I found the trailer on the net and the episodes of season 1 are available to watch which I Will.

Cool!

Will we be able to see it in the US this year or will it only be aired in Canada again?

Still no US deal in place, so it will again take some 'effort' to see the new episodes.

Just tried watching a Season 1 episode on History.ca, showed unavailable, so not sure if they are still blocking US IP's or what.

[homer] Stupid need to turn a profit! [/homer]

What about "The Aviators"? Anybody know if they are on the net? Our PBS stations haven't started showing them yet.

Sweet - Maybe watching these shows will put a few seconds to the positive side to the life I'll never get back watching dancing with the stars.......

Bah...and here I thought I was doing a favor. Sorry, I saw the "episodes" link but didn't bother checking one out. That will teach me!

Only other way I know to watch is same as Jim B. suggested.

You were not the first one to be taken by that little website trick. Don't feel bad.

I actually found a website that let me watch it here in the US. I don't remember the name anymore, but it appears to have disappeared.

Did anyone else catch the promo on the Discovery channel for a new series called Flying Wild Alaska. It looks like it could be pretty good. Premieres January 5th at 9.

I've watched all of Ice Pilots NWT Season 1. The episodes where they cross the Atlantic was amazing.

Still looking for Season 2 on any torrent sites.... anybody? :cryin:

I've watched all of Season 1 and the first epi of Season 2 by using a proxy server.

To do this using Firefox:
1) Open up 'Preferences' (Mac) or (PC)
2) Click on the "Advanced" icon
3) Click on the "Network" icon
4) Click on "Settings" in the "Connection" section
5) Take note of the box that's checked. It'll probably be "No proxy" or "Use system proxy settings."
6) Select "Manual proxy configuration", then enter "174.142.24.206" into the "HTTP Proxy" box and "3128" into the Port box.
7) Click "Ok"

Please note that once you're done watching Ice Pilots NWT, you'll need to follow steps 1-4 and then set the value you took note of in step 5.

What this does is bounce your traffic off a server in Canada, making it appear that you're coming from the right country.

You should be good to go; sometimes you need to refresh things a few times as it gets hung up but once you load "http://history.ca/video" you're golden.

Hey Chris.. Thanks for the info !

I have tried it with firefox and safari on a mac. I know that it is proxying because I get google.ca when I just go to google. But unfortunately it still is not working. Going directly to the page that you linked I do not see the video list and I get an error that I need flash player 8.0 installed. My flash is up to date. If I click on the video link I get a not authorized to view this page error.

Any suggestions ? Thanks again ..

I couldn't get through with your proxy; very sluggish

I get the following when I go there with another proxy, is this server overload?

Thanks Dave...

I tried a few of the addresses and I am still having the flash player issue.
I might try another machine..

Those top ones just take you to another paid torrent site. The two on the bottom are the only ones that work. Doesn't look like any of season 2 has made it up yet.

episode 1 was great...quintessential northern flying - staying up all night to move heaters so that all engines, batteries, interior have enough heat to crank in the morning. In the show, Justin took all the blame for departing sans Herman Nelson, but Joe really set them up for failure with an overly ambitious plan of all that flying in one day.

Episode 2, Arnie lands oei (er...one caged) and A.J. gets a fire warning light (that's all you get!) :D

I just saw episode 5... without spoiling too much, I wonder why they decided to use the DC-4 and not the Electra? They had several planeloads anyway, would it not be economical for such a short flight?

it must be toast. Or too pricey to operate are my guesses.
The tcas requirement seems too funny in view of the lack of traffic.
