Pictures of me boarding my first airline flight at the age of 7.... when you still walked on the tarmac, and when airlines were still flying DC-6's and Electras.

I have a picture of me taking off from 6Y9 that Jesse took a couple of years ago. It is a really nice picture and he took it just as my nose wheel lifted off of the turf.

Pictures from wherever - mostly aviation related. The current desktop is attached. -Skip

Depends on the computer. My main machine at home just cycles through wallpaper that came with Windows 7. My workstation at work has a picture I took of the windmill on Mykonos, Greece. And my work laptop has a picture my wife took of me in front of the Sphynx and the Great Pyramids at Giza. I've used pictures I've taken in Paris and Sydney prior to that.

Background is pictures I take myself.
The screensaver is assorted fun pictures I've taken.

Sorry - boring but functional blue; couldn't see the icons as easily with any photos.

I thew in a few pictures I took into the Windows 7 default mix...here's one I took a few weeks ago.

I use mostly photos I've taken, like this one I took in my front yard last year (you can see the bee headed for the mimosa flower on the right). For several years I used a photo that another pilot sent me of his inverted Decathlon near clouds. Mari, that was a photo from John Blum. :) On my laptop is a photo of the Citabria in the corn. Tom has a photo of our kitties grooming each other on his computer screen.

Of the 3 active, one is a F22 flying over Canaveral during a launch, one has a B2 escorted by 2 F22s over the beach, and the 3rd has an eagle on it. All pix from the internet.

I use pictures I've taken. On my machine at home it's a picture of the runway at Cedar Key. On my work laptop, I have a picture of my then 6 year old daughter in the right seat of a C-172 on her first aiplane ride "up front".

I've attached the Cedar Key one (I think). And, no I wasn't that high on final.

I almost always use pictures I've taken myself. On my desktop is a closeup of the airplane I fly, so close that you can't tell it's an airplane unless you can read, with clouds reflected in the paint. On my laptop is a shot of Lake Louise, Alberta.

I do the same here and at work. For the screensaver I like to see pictures we take while flying to, or taken at various destinations.

I run a little program called "Steve Murphy's Automatic Wallpaper Changer". It cycles through the hundreds of photos that I save off the internet. Really works well and doesn't interfere with anything else I run.

Pic from trip to Mt Baker.

I read your Blog, and didn't realize you were not a pilot, Let's fix that.. give me a ring. I'm in the book. We have instructors and aircraft available @ OKH

It just blows my mind how many of you have aviation desk top backgrounds what gives?

Kinda Like this too. Yeah I want to fix the whole pilot thing. Heard there are a few CFI's out of OKH. Thanks for the offer i'll look you up and give you a call. Also glad to hear you read some of my ramblings on the blog

I work with airplanes all day, so my desktops tend to have the stuff I miss, like mountains and the lakes I fish when I can, or the places we've been:

Well it's a good thing you missed the thing walking on your second picture.

I'd use this one but my icons would require too many mooring spaces. The two islands are six miles South of my house.

I cycle between my daughter's and aviation stuff. Currently it's my three girls, but it was my landing photo from Windwood (Taken by Shane) that predominately covered my desktop for a while. Another is turning base-final for RY 6 at Wings Field.

Generally I like to have ones that I've taken on trips, as it sparks conversation with a few people here at work when they see it.

I currently use a picture I took from a train on a testing trip on the Alaska Railroad. I took it on Moose Pass Lake between Anchorage and Seward.
