Hayden's Air Tour

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Spike, I was just kidding! :) :blowingkisses:

I know that, Darlin', but if I can fall on a sword and make my friends hapy, then find me a sword!

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

All this over a Wal-Mart garden gnome, seriously? It's not the Olympic torch. This was supposed to be fun.

If I got him again I wouldn't want to be yelled at if I couldn't find the opportunity to hand him off in what some people deem to be an acceptable amount of time. Stuff happens.

Also I thought we had a member map on here before, but IIRC someone said it stopped working. If we had a good map that people could opt-in to, it'd be easier to see who might be candidates for a handoff. When I fly charters and end up all over the eastern U.S. I usually have absolutely no idea which POAers might be nearby. I'm not good at memorizing.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

O happy day, another argument/spat to read and another time I question why I read thisi board. There are children present apparently.

I am a believer in the policy "if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything." I wish more people practiced that.

David
Hey I am just happy we have the walled off Spin Zone where people get along much better than on the rest of the PoA site.

Post-O-the day. :D

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Gee, has Hayden been up here in the North East lately?

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I have several, Spike. What's your pleasure? Naval officer dress sword, samurai sword, chinese broadsword?

As long as we continue to use hypothetical swords, you may make the selection...

...and I shall describe, in excruciating detail, the hypothetical injuries.

Oh, you were being metaphorical? I thought you were being noble, concerned about my happiness and all ...

I was gonna use the word, "metaphorical," but I have been called out several times of late over my use of that word, so I did not, preferring instead to leave the use of such complicated words (and concepts) to those who are professionally qualified, preferably, to Professional Noted Aviation Journalists (PNAJs).

And Ken, I *know* that you're happy, already.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Oh, dear...and all this time I thought Hayden was lost at Gaston's last year...I need to start paying attention. :)

Well, Hayden has started his new Air Tour 2009. Yea!

Hayden flew to the Beaumont Hotel today and met Dawn, a student pilot, who will arrange for his plastic surgery and will fly him to a fly-in soon. Hayden is glad to leave the farm and looks forward to flying with Dawn. Updates coming forthwith. :)

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I think the ride in my Volvo wasn't quite as exciting as his ride to Beaumont. He was a little melancholy on the way home but is already looking forward to a new adventure. Surgery is scheduled. I'll post pics when done.

Dawn, welcome to the blue board!

Thank you for taking Hayden!

Here is what helps Hayden when he gets melancholic. He enjoys margaritas and camping when he isn't flying.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

That boy needs to go to Osh!

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

He looks a little Irish.

Even though Margarita's are green that's just not right.

The poor lad has been corrupted.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Any chance getting him Back to Wings in May? I'd like to meet this fella and possibly offer him a ride to Gaston too......

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

As soon as he does get back to Wings, we need to meet out on the picnic tables and get him liquored up! it's about that time.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Hayden came through his surgery just fine. My husband was the surgeon. I couldn't figure out how to post a picture here, but posted one on the purple board. Hayden is currently residing on the wine cabinet, so I think he'll be ok.

Here ya go Dawn. I copied it from over there and attached it here. I think there is a setting on the forum here that you have to have 5 posts before you can add an attachment.

Is Hayden pointing at which wine he wants next? ;)

What was broken on Hayden? I performed surgery on him once already.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Here it is St Patty's day eve and the poor lad is stuck on a wine cabinet:nono:

:D I think he will likely have recovered by today, so I imagine that he can point that little finger to the bar by tomorrow. :D

Thanks! Yes, funny thing, he seems to favor fancy Bordeaux. I never would've guessed.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Wow. More than three months and no one has posted about where I have been. What's up with that? 187 posts and I noticed that I have not ONCE said anything myself about where I have been and what I have been doing. Must have some short term amnesia because I have no idea what happened between when I was on Dawn's Wine Cabinet and now.

I somehow ended up in my current host's airplane at Gaston's 2009. For some reason, I don't think he likes me very much, but I think we have come to an agreement about that. I got a ride in his really nice old airplane. I am not one on aircraft ID, but it had one of them there old fashioned engines that have the cylinders in a circle. I seem to recall someone calling it a "Rotary Engine" or some such thing. I may have that wrong, but what do I know. The first couple of pictures are of me sitting on top of the cowling of that engine. The next one is kind of fuzzy, but it is of me in the cockpit.

I am currently in some place in Iowa. It has a funny name. French, I think. Dubuque? How the heck do you pronounce that, anyway. The next picture is of me in front of the operations building.

I have spent some time supervising my current host as he was cleaning his airplane. That is me in the next picture playing supervisor. Man, was the bottom of that plane DIRTY. Mention was made of a wax job, but I suggested holding off on that until it was a tad COOLER. Summer in Iowa is HOT.

My current host has suggested that I may get to go to China with him. However, I have some reservations about that. I mean, really. I don't have a passport, or a Chinese Visa. And I am not sure I want to deal with the Totally Senseless Agency. They may think I am a terrorist or something. In fact, I think I may be on the Terrorist watch list. Oh well. Maybe I will smuggle myself back into the country in my host's suitcase. I will have to think about that for awhile.

My host's lady friend seems kind of nice. Maybe she will take me some places.

Anyway, until I go somewhere else, you won't here from me again. Hopefully soon.

Later.

Hayden

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

Love it, Greg! Hopefully someone will help Hayden remember where he's been in that missing period!

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I know that he was hanging out with Tony for a while and already has had experiance with the TSA as cary on luggage.

He then spent some time wiht AdamB, and was aboard the Aztruck next to the keg on the way to Gastons.

Where else would the Irish lad be but next to the keg?

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I think Diana had ended up with him last winter. When Dawn and Diana and I had supper at Beaumont Dawn got him. Then I got him so I could take him to Wings. He did in fact go through security without prompting a search and even spent the night with me in the terminal at Atlanta. At Wings I put him on the picnic table and ran away.

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I need an explanation on this. Details please.

he rode in my backpack on an RJ from Kansas City to Philly, through Atlanta. TSA agents didn't say anything about me carrying on a garden gnome.

Cash looks suspicous but a garden nome does not. LOL!

Re: Hayden's Air Tour 2007

I took a trip to somewhere other than an airport today. It was a place called Wartburg Theological Seminary. The first three pics are sort of a composite of what the place looks like. Looks a lot like a castle. I have been told it is modeled after a place in Germany called Wartburg. I think the significance is that the place in Germany is where a dude named Martin Luther studied. I have been told that this Martin dude started a new church denomination when he couldn't resolve a tiff he had with the Catholic church a few centuries ago. Lutherans? Seems logical.

The next couple of pictures are of me standing near a statue of that Martin Luther dude. I understand that this statue is one of three identical ones made. I don't know where the other two are.

The last two are of me helping my host's lady friend doing some volunteer work at the seminary.

My host and his lady friend spent 5 years on the Wartburg campus. He has told me that that was an enjoyable period of his life.

Well, that is all for now.

Hayden
