It was nice of them to park both of my planes next to each other.

Flew 8 hrs past few days. Weather was finally good around my area.
Visited Lambert Cafe (home of the throwed rolls". Then another trip to Branson. Branson was amazing to fly to/from. Flight took 2 hrs to Branson. Ordered 2 philly steak sandwiches which took 1 hr 45 mins to make. I thought I was slow till I met the kid making the sandwiches. Just sat there watching the jets roll in/out.

I'm pretty impressed w/the whole setup. Propane grill there w/propane ( with an extra full bottle ), firewood ricked up for the fireplace. My wife actually approved the restroom facilities <gasp>.

From Chicago to Midland TX in 1 day (just over 1100nm for my path). Quite a journey in the arrow. Fort Worth center was extraordinarily helpful in giving vectors around any potential weather issues, I don't know how they do it. They're on the radio non-stop, more than any other airspace I've been to.

Tomorrow I continue on to Phoenix (if weather gods allow it).

But overall a great flying day. Ate a little turbulence in Arkansas, but smooth sailing after that!

This cloud seemed to stretch for a billion miles.

Coming in to land at Abilene for gas.

Edit: only place I've ever heard that politely asks you on ATIS to make sure you don't accidentally land on a taxiway is KABI. Gotta be some stories behind that ..

Phoenix to El Paso. Stop for gas and then planned to move along.

Edit: after standing on the ramp for a bit and looking at the mountains I decided I'd stay a day :). Take off tomorrow!

Short final 26R at KELP

The last time that I had that view (short final 26R) I was busy demonstrating the maximum demonstrated crosswind for a T-1. T'was a tad breezy, but I'd do it again.

All the KSDL jet owners fought to be parked closest to the Arrow...
(quite possibly the first jet-centric FBO I've been to that didn't relegate the arrow to a spot adjacent to derelict fuel trucks...)

I was actually a little concerned because the wind definitely favored 22 that day, but all the commercial traffic was using that. But went off without a hitch, cool spot to fly!

The one and only time I flew on Southwest Airlines, the 737 scraped the right wingtip on that landing.

Flew out to Sedona and had a blast. Had to shoot an approach thanks to that layer on the way home.
The car is the rental I got at the airport. 2007 Ford Focus I affectionately nicknamed 007
