Midwest POA Janebruary Lunch February 3, 2024 1200 EST Rick's Boatyard KEYE

Where is Bessie's?

Nauga,
who has legs now

Sounds like I'm out. I wouldve only been in for breakfast and my dad and son want to go running in the morning.

Let me see what we’ve got going on… maybe.

I’ll be coming down from 2P2. So really whenever I wake up and get going haha. I’m flexible.

Maybe not this time but soon.

Nauga,
blocked

I’m out of town. Going to need @eman to cover for me.

I would love to join you, but widespread showers and well-below normal temperatures as an upper low interacts with a coastal low will move over the Carolinas through Monday. The coastal low will linger over my area and keep the weather wet and breezy. Low clouds will linger through the night. The center of the closed upper low should be centered over the Carolinas. The surface low riding underneath will gradually dissipate during the day Monday as it meanders over the eastern Carolinas. With lingering available moisture from this system and good upper dynamics, I expect scattered showers and a few thunderstorms to be possible. In this case, support for daily showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast through the end of the short-term.

Also, I’m out of town.

So are you in or out? Never did say.

So it's looking like most are out? No biggie either way I'm flying tomorrow just wondering if we need to rush out the door to make a meetup halfway or not. I'll also be flying home next Sat so there's that...

Yeah I’m now likely out as well.

I have a Lifeline passenger to pick up at UIN on Saturday, so I'm unilaterally calling a breakfast there. 10AM CDT at Bluehaven Cafe, Quincy Regional Airport. Hope some of you can make it.

I'll be doing my BFR. Gotta make sure I still know how to fly.

Looks like they have some closures for runway/taxi, plus @eman1200 will be out of town.

actually I'm definitely gonna make this one, I'll just be a day later than everyone else

I'm out. First major sailing regatta of the year (Fri-Sun)

Dang. This weekend is out for me but I was there last week and liked the place.

Nauga,
and his $100 BLT

only time in my life I ever used the word regatta in a sentence was when making a calzone or baked ziti. serusly
What you need good sir, is a boat. Then you too can use this word on occasion!

We’ll be in gulf shores (driving, ugh). If Cowman doesn’t make this one…

Cowman and I had a nice breakfast this morning. Food at UIN was better than I remember, and I had forgotten how cool the old terminal building is. We'll have to hit it up again one of these days when more people can make it.

That said, does anyone want to try again for June? The 17th and 24th are both open for me. I'm thinking 05C as it's one of the few I haven't been to yet. Open to suggestions, as always.

Weekend of 17th I’m doing a family flying trip to Mackinac. 24th could work.

Any ideas for August? Thinking about going somewhere Saturday

I'm game.

Looks like the new restaurant (Flakos Tacos) is open at 05C.
We still haven't done GPC or EYE, although those aren't much of a flight for you.
Waco Kitchen at BTL. I assume KAZO has food of some kind with the museum there.
New restaurant open at ALN, but that's a long haul from Indy.

Open to any other ideas.

I'll likely be flying from KAZO if I'm able to meet up on Saturday. Juggling a couple family events atm.

On the KAZO field itself I think it's just the Kitty Hawk Cafe within the museum. They have an F117 there now in case you didn't get your fill of plane-viewing at KOSH. There's a KJXN restaurant too that I went to a few weeks ago; pretty decent no-frills diner on the field.

Anywho, I'll stay tuned to this thread and confirm when able. I don't want to nominate the resty since there is a non-zero chance I end up tied up with fam that day :)

The Apron at KJXN does really good breakfasts.
