the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

nope. refund or reschedule on a different flight. next flight isn't until friday, when I was supposed to come home. it's the only airline at this airport besides eman airlines. hey wait a minute, that gives me an idea.....
Why TF would you fly commercial to FLL? You're a pilot. Do some pilot sh**.

Although I guess it is a long way from Oakland to Fort Lauderdale....

I figure the more commercial flights I get on, the better my chances are of one of the pilots becoming incapacitated so I can step in and show off my mad private pilot skillz. just imagine the walk up that aisle towards the cockpit....."excuse me, private pilot coming through......'scuse me, there's a private pilot walkin' here....."

That's the most arrogant thing I've read all day. Ballsy man, just ballsy.
Keep on flying.

I did pass my single engine check ride yesterday.
Now i have to wait 6weeks to 3 minths to get a new piece of paper :(
Why can't it be as simple as the FAA where you just get a temporary certificate?
Next step: 91.75

GM "pays" for the first oil change on new vehicles. So I'm sitting in the waiting area of a dealership... waiting, for the first time in my life. Never had the oil in any of my vehicles changed for me, with the exception of the airplane. Feels weird.

We bought a new basic Wrangler last year, Jeep wave care covers the first three oil changes. Ditto, bizzarre to be sitting at a dealer last week waiting for an oil change, 1st time in my life. I always try to do as much MX and repairs myself as I can.

Yeah, but think of all that delicious coffee you get to drink in their waiting room

I hope they wash it too.

My dealer also has donuts if you show up early enough.

I'm trying to catch up on my backlog of magazines, but I keep getting distracted by the Reba on the TV. Reba. Anybody remember that show? If not, you can catch it during the day on the Hallmark channel.......

I was channel surfing while eating breakfast and came across an episode of Hazel.

And in further news spring is around the corner. I know this because I saw a prairie dog yesterday.

I once bought a new Fit that came with lifetime free oil changes at the dealership. Then I moved 2500 miles away to the left coast. "Needs of the Navy."

So I sold it and got something more useful, a Challenger.

Yes, I DO check all the cartons of milk for the latest expiration date, but more importantly I spend the extra minute looking for the most filled bottle.

EUREKA!!

And now Golden Girls...lol...

I’d rather be changing oil.

Actually I don’t do much of that these days. My wife’s Toyota is a royal PITA to change the filter, so I tell her to go let someone else do it. Oil changes on the Mercedes were a joy; I could do it while wearing a suit if I wanted to, but I got rid of that. I let the dealer change the oil in its replacement (BMW) because it was my one freebie. And my daughter has been “borrowing” my pickup for over a year now so she can bloody well take care of those oil changes.

I still do the oil changes in the plane though. All three liters.

The University of North Texas, the alma mater of myself and @SixPapaCharlie , won the NIT last night. None of you care. But I do. We're the biggest school you've never heard of. Maybe people will start to hear about us now.

what's the "NIT"?
For real? National Invitational Tournament. It used to be the big tournament before the NCAA Tournament became the big one. So it is essentially the consolation prize for those that are left out of the big dance.

Heard of them only because it's Leila Rahimi's (Chicago sportscaster) alma mater as well

I’ve heard of Texas, if that makes you feel better.

You are a South African bush pilot. You fly in some critical medical supplies, enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital.

It's a stifling 100 degrees in the shade and you're eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder.

On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade, within 1 mile, has become very popular . . . You start calculating the distance to the plane door . . and wonder . . .

"Do I feel lucky today?"

I rode across north Texas last May, it was god awful.
A flater than pizz on a plate straighter than an arrow all day drone. I feel your pain. Extra pain points if it was on a rotch crocket.

Home of the Fighting Armadillos right? From that one movie...

Also, the alma matter to most of The Eagles if my memory serves.

I told my wife that I need to change the oil in her Subaru and my pickup.

She informed me that I am too old to be crawling under vehicles and I need to go to the oil change place and let them do the work.

Never in my life have I had someone else change the oil in my vehicles.

So I ask, how old is too old to crawl under vehicles.??
