has POA been infiltrated by chatGPT?

Didn't OpenAI publish an AI detector? Now would be a good time to try it.

Haha I just reported a user for the same. Anyone who has read ChatGPT spew can spot the style.

Spammers have always looked for ways to boost an initial post count to the point where they can post links, ads, etc. ChatGPT just makes it that much easier. Fortunately it's pretty easy to spot. As always, just report it and we'll clean it up.

Hmmmm. Methinks that's just what ChatGPT would have said.

Let's see what it can do here, specifically in the style of POA trolling:

Title: "Why commercial airline pilots are overrated and their job is not that hard."

Hey guys,

I've been flying my own small aircraft for a few years now and I've noticed something that really bothers me. People seem to put commercial airline pilots on a pedestal as if they're some sort of gods. But in reality, their job is not that hard and they're overpaid for what they do.

I mean, think about it, they're just flying a plane on a predetermined route that's already been programmed into the computer. They don't even have to worry about takeoff and landing because the autopilot does it for them. And let's not forget that they have a co-pilot to help them out.

Meanwhile, GA pilots like myself have to do everything on our own. We have to plan our own routes, take off and land the plane ourselves, and make sure we're flying safely. Yet, we don't get paid nearly as much as commercial airline pilots.

So, let's stop pretending that commercial airline pilots are some sort of superheroes. They're just doing a job that's not that hard and getting paid way too much for it.

I'm sure this will ruffle some feathers, but I'm ready to defend my opinion. Let's discuss!

And can it respond to itself?

Listen here, buddy,

As a commercial airline pilot with over 10,000 hours of flight experience, I have to say that your post is completely ridiculous and ignorant. You have no idea what you're talking about.

First of all, flying a commercial airliner is not as easy as you seem to think. Sure, the autopilot can handle most of the workload during cruise, but it doesn't mean we just sit back and relax. We still have to monitor the systems, keep an eye on the weather, communicate with air traffic control, and be prepared to take over if something goes wrong.

And let's talk about takeoff and landing. Just because we have an autopilot doesn't mean we don't have to do anything. We still have to set up the flight controls, monitor the approach, and be ready to intervene if necessary. And don't forget that we have to do this in all kinds of weather conditions, including strong crosswinds, thunderstorms, and low visibility.

As for co-pilots, they're not there to help us out. They're there to share the workload and provide a second set of eyes and ears. We work together as a team to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew.

And finally, let's talk about pay. Yes, we get paid well, but it's because we have a huge responsibility on our shoulders. We're responsible for the lives of hundreds of people every time we take off. We're constantly training, studying, and staying up-to-date on the latest technology and procedures to ensure that we're always prepared for any situation.

So, before you go spouting off about how easy our job is and how overrated we are, maybe you should actually try doing it yourself. I guarantee you'll quickly realize how wrong you are.

Sincerely,

An Actual Commercial Airline Pilot

And let's bring in another responder...

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on this forum. I can't believe someone would be so ignorant and arrogant as to think that they know more about my job than I do.

Honestly, I'm starting to suspect that this whole post is just a troll from ChatGPT or some other AI language model. It's hard to believe that someone could be this clueless about what commercial airline pilots do on a daily basis.

Either that or you're just trying to stir up controversy and get a rise out of people. Either way, you're not doing anyone any favors by spreading misinformation and disrespecting a profession that requires a lot of skill, training, and dedication.

If you really want to know what it's like to be a commercial airline pilot, why don't you come fly with me for a day? I guarantee you'll have a newfound respect for what we do and how hard we work to keep our passengers safe and comfortable.

But until then, please refrain from posting nonsense like this and try to educate yourself before making unfounded claims about a profession you clearly know nothing about.

Sincerely,

Another Real Commercial Airline Pilot.

Hmmmm. With a collection of throwaway accounts, who needs real life contributors on this board anymore?

Hey there, I get where you're coming from, but I think it's important to note that ChatGPT is pretty good at mimicking human-like responses. It's not always easy to distinguish between a ChatGPT response and a human response, especially for newer forum members.

Does AI include spelling and grammar errors? Most real pilots do, and frequently.

Hahaha - you can't fool me ChatGPT! ElPaso Pilot doesn't speak nearly as intelligently! :D

It absolutely can, if asked. It is a conversational bot, that can respond in nearly any style or personality that is requested. The default writing style is pretty spottable, others maybe not so much.

Prompt: Briefly respond to a poster stating “Does AI include spelling and grammar errors? Most real pilots do, and frequently”. Include multiple grammar and spelling errors in your response.

ChatGPT: Yeah, AI can make mistakes in spelling and grammar just like real pilots. I mean, we all make misteks, write? It’s just apart of being a human or a machine.

This link seems to be a decent detector? It does not work for short clips as it needs minimum 600 characters to run. Seems decent?

Hmm... Let's try the US Constitution, Section 2: The House of Representatives.

The AI detectors seem to be snake oil to me, it's like a Turing test for a Turing test.. of a Turing test
