Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Of all the fishes in the sea,
I’d rather be a bass.
I’d crawl up on my hands and knees,
And slide down on my…

Planes going to Toronto. Blond sits down in first class. The stew asks to see her ticket. It's economy. Tells her she must go back to economy. She says "I'm blond, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Toronto and I'm staying right here. Stew goes up to the cockpit and tells them about it. Copilot goes back and tries. Same thing. I'm blond, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Toronto and I'm staying right here. Goes back to cockpit and tells the captain maybe we should call ahead and have security meet us at the gate and bust her for disobeying the crew. Captain says, you say she is blond. I'll handle this. I'm married to a blond. I speak blond. He goes back and whispers in her ear. She gets up and moves back to economy. Copilot and stew ask him what he said. I told her First Class is going to Montreal, economy is going to Toronto

In these days of gender confusion, it can be easy to mix up "blond" and "blonde." Perhaps it would be best if the golden-hair persons told us which they prefer, along with preferred pronouns. To avoid the inevitable sexism of the term altogether, maybe we should just spell it "blahnd."

at least one dictionary I have lists: "blond | bländ | (also blonde)"

Bob says it’s Blonde. That’s good enough for me.

Instructor (Steve): "Ok, now go ahead and tell Ground you're ready to taxi, with Mike."
Student (Carl): "I thought your name was Steve?"
Instructor (Steve): "It is, they're looking for Mike"
Student (Carl): "Why? What happened to Mike?"
Instructor (Steve): "Mike is the current information.".
Student (Carl): "Umm, ok, here goes...'XYZ Ground, Skyhawk N12345 is at GA parking ready to taxi with Steve'."
Ground Control: "Skyhawk N12345, say again current information?"
Instructor (Steve) : "MIKE!"
Student (Carl) : "My name is CARL sir."
Instructor (Steve) : "Uhhhgg, not your name or my name...Just start over, and remember its INFORMATION MIKE."
Student (Carl) : "Sorry."
Instructor (Steve) : "It's ok, just start over and be clear about your request."
Student (Carl) : "XYZ Ground, this is CARL and I'm at GA parking, I understand you're looking for Mike, however he's not with us, I do have STEVE though. Can we taxi?"
Instructor (Steve) : "Get out."

That's a fun-looking airplane in the picture, and a rare one at that. I had to look it up by tail number, it's a Wing D-1 Derringer, a two-seat twin. Only 7 are currently listed in the FAA registry, no idea how many are actually flying.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Derringer

There's one based in Madison. It's owned by a guy, Al W, whose father was a Tuskegee Airman. He let me sit in it and drool on it and all that... Very very cool airplane.

The first time I saw it, I thought it was a composite experimental. Nope... It was certified, but they only built 13 of them. And I thought it was composite because there are no rivets:

The internal structure of the wing is built, the outer skin is cut from a single sheet of aluminum, and then wrapped around the innards and *glued* on. Very unusual.

Also, note the derringer art on the nacelle.

Another thing they did to lower drag - There are steps behind both wings to help you get up and in, and those steps retract into the fuselage via cables/pulleys actuated when you close the canopy.

Another thing that's rare about it - It's a two-seat twin. Not a ton of those exist.

It's a really cool airplane, and unfortunate that they didn't make more.

Al is a fan of rare airplanes - His other plane is a Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm BO-209 (102 built). And he takes impeccable care of both of them.
