So, anyone else think this lady will only serve less than 90 days.??

Seems about right, if some woman gets in a cat fight with a waitress more often than not it’s well under 90days, especially in places like LAX SFO SEA, where the police might not even file charges.

Flight attendant should have just walked away instead of pouring gas on the flame, other woman should keep her hands to herself.

I really have a hard time caring about this for ether of them. Maybe just ask the FA if she wants a rematch?

Maybe the next MANDATE the government dreams up, should be training for all airline, and airport staff, on how to calm down a situation, instead of escalating it.

de-escalating is something that law enforcement is trying to use... I suspect that many LEO's haven't yet learned how.

It would be great training for everyone, from baggage destroyers, ticket agents, security, store clerks, to pilots and flight attendants.
It seems that many try to escalate a small thing, into a huge thing...when it should be the other way around. I was being taught by age 10 from my father how to cool down someone who is getting agitated. Papa was a very calm, and rational man. Seeing how he ran his gold mine, and dealt with employees, was great training. On the farm I deal with a lot of customers, employees, middlemen, truckers, suppliers, and defusing a situation the second i see it starting to go sideways, has served me well for many years. I've personally witnessed airport, and airline staff turn a minor thing, into something much larger than it needed to be.
If they don't like their job, quit, and go do something else they are better suited for. Not everyone should be working with the public, some should be repairing buses, or an order picker for Amazon.

I'm pretty sure that, at least with FA's, that has been part of their 'boot camp' so to speak going way back to the Stewardess days.

My wife’s friend is an elementary school teacher and this book helped her a lot. She said the techniques work on adults too, probably because they were behaving like an elementary school student at the time.

How do you de-escalate the mandates to fasten your seatbelt and put your tray table up for landing?

They write them. That some of them have their head stuck so far up someone elses azz that they can't recognize the smell of s**t any more when they write, and vote on them, no argument here.
Nah, writing laws is way more work than legislators at any level tend to want (or are qualified) to do. The text of bills is generally a mashup of what lobbyists suggest and staffers refine. Granted, some congress critters, etc. are lawyers, and at least understand how to generate the required legal-speak, but it's way too detailed work for their attention spans. If you doubt that, go into the Congressional Record and read the hundreds of pages in a typical bill. No way does your Congressperson actually string all those words together.

I traveled on airlines weekly for 25 years. Got pretty ****ed on occasion when things did not go my way. Never did punching out an FA ever enter my mind. Sorry but the idiot got what she deserved.

Which idiot?

Same way you ignore someone asking for any other of the lack luster services on our modern carriers, just walk by “I didn’t see nothing”.

It’s funny how “serious” FAs take their jobs when you give them a sliver of “authority”

And then rhe 'sectet observer ' writes them up and they get fired.

Don’t they have some silly union?

I mean FAs have sucked at their job for decades, not sure why it would surprise anyone that one didn’t notice one person didn’t have a paper mask on?

“They we’re eating when I walked by”

Getting someone heated about a non flight safety topic, on a aluminum tube in the flight levels, and pushing the issue, I’d fire her for that, just walk on by, it’s not worth it

Gotcha. I digress. I shouldn’t have been so ‘literal’ with the word ‘write.’ Figured everyone would get the point. But they like be the one what done put their signature on it and voted Yea on it. I’ll let my point stand that some are bought and paid for from the beginning to get into a position that their signature and vote matter in the end.

The Office of Legislative Counsel drafts most bills. The House and Senate each have one. A member can draft his own bill if he wants, but the OLC is specifically there for that.

Married to an FA…deescalation is part of any training and also ongoing annual requirements by her company…along with hazmat, trafficking, making a bomb stack, and all sorts of other stuff that you never would know as a passenger…some weird stuff happens in the cabin. Now catch a FA on the backside of a four day on the third and last leg of the day that started 10-12 hrs prior…you might find them let’s say tired and well not at their best…I can tell you mine does not suck at her job…

It’s cute they try to teach them all of that, part of me wishes they would just be honest and say you’re a waitress who shows people to the exit, with the TV sets in the headrest their don’t even brief pax anymore.

Ouch.

Yeah Jack had a problem this whole thread…good luck in life with that…I digress to his expertise…

I imagine that FAs, like most career fields, the people with negative attitudes are the ones that stand out. I’m willing to bet that more than half of the FAs out there are capable of doing a good job with the training that Warlock described his wife going through.

Your hot take of telling FAs they don’t matter and what they do doesn’t matter wouldn’t inspire me to try and do a good job. I bet things on airlines would be a lot worse off going your not so “cute” route.

@Warlock if your wife is one of the FAs that cares and tries to do a good job, tell her thanks for me.

Actually, if they served bbq and didn't serve booze, flights might be a lot more peaceful. It's been my experience that sober people with a plate of ribs in front of them rarely cause trouble.

I can imagine the perfect FAR: For any regularly scheduled domestic flight, delayed between boarding and take-off more than 15 minutes, a half-rack of smoked pork ribs much be served to each passenger, along with a glass of iced tea with free refils. If the delay goes past one hour, the meal must be extended to included unlimited fried chicken and mashed potatoes. In the event that this can't be carried out, the flight is free.

You left out the banana pudding.

Apologies, I’m just too old to care, or go along with the show

I just call ‘em like I see ‘em

The impression I'm getting from this conversation is that if flight attendants are conscientious about doing their jobs, then they deserve to have teeth knocked out and eye injuries that require stitches.

Try the thread topic
Woman Attacking Flight Attendant Gets Prison Time

Idiot 1
The flight attendant who started the fight with a pax and poured fire on a non flight safety issue

Idiot 2
The pax who lost her cool, couldn’t keep her hands to her self and finished the flight

Now I would wager if the FA put more effort to keeping coffee full than playing covid cop, the flight would have been uneventful.

There are no victims here, if I was on the flight deck I’d have more of a issue with one of my FAs escalating trivial matters to fisticuffs in back of the plane, vs some random pax not wearing a 99 cent mask properly.

You are clueless.

you say you call it how you see it but you don’t understand what you see. So very sad that you are that ignorant to the world.
