Marc, it looks like Dean will be joining us. :)

I'm not at my main computer or I would attach your daughter's flyer...she did a really nice job. :)

I have Brian to thank for helping me figure out how to use PowerPoint.

OK, I'm attaching this...I pulled it off another forum. :D Marc's 16-year-old daughter made it for him. She did a good job...perhaps better than her dad might have done, but I don't know. :D

I think its a GREAT flyer.
I agree. The only thing I'd do is make the type a little more legible. Changing to a non-cursive, probably sans-serif font would help, as would increasing the contrast with the background. Easiest way would be to cut the saturation(?) down to 30-40% to give it a sort of frosted look, and choose a font color to contrast with the green.
If I wasn't so far away I would be there. :D
If Leslie's feeling up to it, we WILL be there. Unfortunately, I think it's very unlikely she'll be up for that much of a trip so soon after surgery. If the King Air goes up for a day we may do it and get one of the mobility carts, but we'd be leaving before Diana's talk was done! :(

Thanks for posting the flier Diana. :D

If your interested, we have a larger one (12 x 18), @ the FBO you can have.

marc

Diana,

If I had done it, you wouldn't have posted it. In fact you would have probably asked if I could take the others down...... Now as far as the 50,000 we dropped from the airplanes across SW MO.... ;):D

A larger one?

 And here I was hoping that there wouldn't be very many people there (just in case it ends up being lame).

Dean, I'm glad that you're coming. :)

Diana,

You may be a lot of things but Lame isn't one of them. Just start talking with your usual enthusiasm and no one will be able to resist being enthused, also.

:) Barb, YOU are the storyteller. I love your stories! And your enthusiasm when you tell them. BTW, where ARE you? Are you back home now?

I'm back home and working hard. I have a lot of Av gas bills to pay! Anyone need their appendix out? I had a wonderful trip and it only took me 57 tach hours to find Wisconsin.

Not that I know of but I could stand to have a knee or two scoped. Ya'll do that on the side?

Darn, you could have done Leslie's surgery last week! Not an appendectomy, but the same general area!:goofy:

I'm sure Leslie would not have wanted the transport from Chicigo to a little Rurel MI hostpital tho....

Just want to encourage everyone, after seeing Diana's presentation last night, if your in the area for her Oshkosh time slot, you really, really, need to see it. It's just that good.

Now I've got to dig around in some of her posts here and track down some of her stops. Because I didn't think about taking notes :(. You'll want to be prepared with a paper and pen. Because you will want to jot yourself some notes of the places you'll want to go see.

Diana, thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. It really encourages us to do what GA can be about for everyone. Low & slow, seeing America, her airports and the folks that make it all work.

Great, great job. Thanks so much. :cheerswine:

I know that they record the presentations at AirVenture. Do they include video, or is it audio only? I'd REALLY like to get a copy with the pictures and everything, since we won't be there!:(

 Marc, thank you so much for your kind words. You all were a great audience and a fun group to visit with. It was an added bonus that Dean and Jim were there.

You did a great job conducting your first meeting as president of the chapter.

You'll recognize several of those pictures. :) Dean and Jim recognized the back of Bruce's head last night. :)

Actually, the wonderful people here went on the trip with me and a lot of them offered not only their support, but their homes, food, hangars, transportation and information. Pilots in general are a fantastic group of people.

Marc, I was hoping to convey those very things in a positive light, and I'm glad that it came across that way.

Great, great job. Thanks so much. :cheerswine:

Thanks again Marc. :)

I have to add another thanks to Brian (qbynewbie) for his superb advice as my computer, PowerPoint, and presentation guru. :cheerswine:

I'm sorry that you guys can't make OSH this year Grant and Leslie. :(

Geee, I hope they don't videotape the presentation!   That will make me MUCH more nervous!

Grant, I'll send you a CD of the PowerPoint slides after the presentation if that will help. :)

Sudden change of plans! We're coming! Okay, only for one day, and it's not the day you're speaking:(, but we're coming! We'll be there on Wednesday, 7/30. Leslie will be running around on her little mobility cart, and we're coming up in the King Air. Hopefully I can place the order for the recording ahead of time when I'm there! And yes, I'd LOVE the CD of the presentation!

Yay! :happydance: I'm glad you both found a way to go.

I may tweak it a bit before OSH, so I'll mail it to you in a few weeks. I can't find your mailing address in my PM's, so would you PM it to me again? Thanks!

Well, you could always use whitepages.com to get the address. I'm listed! But I'll PM it anyway.

Diana,

I feel badly bringing this up, but it appears you've influenced some in our group to fly to SN07 Saturday morning for breakfast, we hold you personally responsible.

You should consider either having folks sign a wavier or a hold harmless agreement prior to your presentation @ OSH.

:D:D

It's not the first time I've been a bad influence. ;)

You all have fun!

Grant,

It's audio only, but the audio plus the powerpoint should probably do the trick.

Marc, how was your fly-out to Beaumont? I hope you all had a good time.

We flew past Beaumont both going to and coming home from Denver and we could see those wind turbines 15 miles away as we passed by.

The CB's :lightning: sent us East to H21 then to KLBO. So Beaumont is still a future plan.:fcross:

See ya,

marc

We won't make it in time for the live presentation. If there will be a video and/or powerpoint, please post the URL so us late arrivals can see if afterwards.

I have to go to a get-together for Able Flight at that same time, darn it... somebody take notes for me!

I think they might make an audio tape. Unfortunataely they probably won't let me edit it after the fact if I fall on my face. :D The PPT presentation is about 36 MB...I could mail it to you when I get back home. :)

Diana,
Kelly and I really enjoyed your presentation the other night and it has opened her eyes to a different kind of flying. She use to want to get from point A to Point B as fast as she could, but now she is interested in the low and slow approach to flying. She also was impressed with the fly-in campground with cabins. She has mentioned several time that this is something she wants us to pursue. So if we end up moving again she wants to buy enough acreage to do it.:fcross:

That's really neat Dean. I'm glad I could provide her with another positive look at what we can do with our flying. I hope you guys can do some of that kind of flying together eventually. Heck, maybe even someday Kelly will want to be the PIC. That would be cool!

With here great presentation, Diana may end up getting dubbed the Grass Queen! :D
