I’ve started a YouTube channel for some of the things we see in our GA shop. It’s not like a “how to”, mainly we just show things we find that are bad, and talk about how we may fix it. It’s been challenging compiling all the clips, because everyone is airdropping me things. Just curious what types of things would interest people, and if the format is good and understandable. There just not a lot of good stuff out there on GA maintenance and what it’s like.
Cessna 195. No start diagnosis and repair. A day in the life of an A&P mechanic
It’s worse than we thought. Engine overhaul gone wrong. Leaking Cessna 210 TSIO -520-R. A&P life
There’s a MOLE in our shop!!! . Jet shades install can be tricky. A&P aircraft mechanic life.

Actually seeing compliance with an AD before I would launch into it would interest me.

The scope of an Annual Inspection / Pre-buy Survey by model may interest some folks.

Troubleshooting concerns like Shimmy or Mag Drops would draw an audience.

I like the new channel. Having this channel as a resource will help break down the knowledge barrier for owners

OK, based on a lot of posts (recent and otherwise) I would think that a video series on just the basic "How stuff works" would be of value - combustion - blow by - magnetos - carburetors - what's that fluid - what's that hose - hydraulics - cables - blah blah blah would be of value. Keep them reasonably short - you could condense most Mike Busch videos from 1 1/2 hours to about 10 -15 minutes - and the series could run pretty much forever...

Great idea for a channel. There are several things we've found in our shop that make us go "hmmmm."

Do Ch 6 of Continental’s M-0, fuel system setup for injected engines.
Much interest in this.
Great idea! Include the Gami injection setup as well. A comparison of the two injectors would be nice. Continental IO520 would be a good example to use for this comparison.

Subscribed!

Borescope valve inspection especially if you had one where you found a problem that compression checks would have never caught…

yes this! I’ve watched Busch’s stuff as I’m dedicated to be an educated owner and pilot but the hour n a half presentation at a relatively slow and boring presentation is a “con” of that series.

There’s so much misunderstood.

Also really think a series on how an A&P pilot preflights as well as what a wise owner would do as a post annual preflight and test flight different than a “normal” flight.

I just saw this thread, but I've been watching your channel for a week or so. I think it is great. Keep the videos coming!

Subscribed. Nice work.

Just stumbled across the Baron annual video... really enjoyed it. Watching some of the others now. I think I need some jetshades.

Been watching your channel. Keep it coming.

Thread drift - but can somebody do a "reader's digest condensed" version of his stuff? I don't want to give up that much of my life to listen through his (excellent) videos.

I really like this channel. The humor is spot on - at least for my taste.

The way the information is presented is great. It is amazing the condition of the aircraft that pilots put themselves and their families in.

Keep up the great work.

I agree about just the typical 100 hour and annual inspections of various aircraft types would be interesting...especially to pilots like me that have always rented and never owned.
Pre-buy inspections, etc... Every vid doesn't really need to be something really oddball/special/unique. Just normal stuff
I'm going to go have a look to subscribe now.

Would love more common maintenance videos that we as pilots/owners should be looking for. Oil change gotchas, wheel change, brake bleeding, borescoping. Any airframe specific gotchas such as piper tailcone screw/stabilator interference, spar corrosion sites. Alternator whine tracking. Rebuilding gear hydraulics.
