This one is odd. Flight track looks good and he was pretty close to the runway. Post crash fire so enough fuel at least. Typically you don't fly an hour and then fall out of the sky.

I’m wondering if that was a different flight. One of the accident websites says he was departing, lost the engine on takeoff and put it down in the trees.

I think you have the right answer. The Flight Aware track ends at 9:51 am. The article says it happened around 3:00 pm.
