I thought butt water was beer. Oh pardon me, that’s Budweiser!

Yeah, I still have skateboard scars, 45 years later.

And my dad was watching when I got the worst ones. I don't think he liked me very much...

Yup scar on my knee and elbow remain to this day from my time with a skateboard. Going fast down a neighborhood hill and caught a rock at the bottom of said hill, no protective gear. Pretty much gave up on skateboarding after that. I used to ride BMX/freestyle and jump all sorts of ramps/half-pipes with no gear and never ate it as hard as I did on that skateboard, lol.

No one used any protective gear when I was a kid, either.

My worst skateboard wipeout was at Spook Hill in Lake Wales, FL. It's a "gravity hill" were objects appear to roll uphill.

Earlier in the day I'd been doing slow tricks on a concrete basketball court and had my trucks set very loose. I forgot to tighten them when we visited Spook Hill. I rode the shallow gravity hill a few times, then walked to the top of the adjoining steep hill. Due to the loose trucks, the wobbles started about 1/4 way down, and it was fairly rough pavement. When I came off I was probably doing about 25mph or so and I slid a looooong way.

Still have scars on my elbow. The knee scars were obliterated by a motorcycle wreck a few years ago.
