We bought a 2-pack at Costco. They were both dead within a year.

Ouch! I'm not sure why yours died so fast.

My Sonicare stays on the charger. It’s maybe 6 years old and still works fine. But that says nothing about something you buy today. I don’t expect consistent quality from anything made on the other side of the planet where it’s more difficult to monitor the manufacturing process. It’s hit and miss. Still too many misses. The one I have still works, but it’s the second one I bought. The first one lasted a couple years before it crapped out.

So does mine. Now, when I have checked it by using it without dropping it in the charger it has been good for 21 uses without needing a charge. I'm not sure how many years I've had it, but it was in a 2 pack and I haven't touched the second one. Probably ought to do that some time and see if the battery in that one will still hold a charge.

My battery has been chugging along for years, 2-3 x per day use.
I also have the model with the UV light sanitizer - put the brush head in, close the door, push the button and UV comes on (supposedly - how would one know?)

Neighbors complained about the noise and it's too costly to operate. I think all the original Supersonicares are in museums now.

Well if y'all have stock in Philips, then your plan has worked - I ordered the FlexCare 2-pack from AMZN. Guess I'll be rattling my old fillings loose soon.

So far, so good. Wife and I both said there is a noticeably cleaner feeling after using vs regular toothbrush. So far, happy with the purchase. Also, old fillings are still in place as far as I can tell.
