Midwest POA Janebruary Lunch February 3, 2024 1200 EST Rick's Boatyard KEYE

I need to move to Champaign. You guys have better weather all the way over there. The forecast here keeps vacillating between blizzard and partly sunny.
I've found the pattern when we actually get a big snow in STL is that the forecast starts as light rain or flurries, then well maybe some accumulation, next it'll be an inch or two, and finally (sometimes after the event!) they settle on 6"+ (which for those of us from the north, is not much, but the locals consider snowmageddon).

The European model started with 15 inches of snow, then 1, then 7, then none, then 4. Currently at 1 again. GFS is at 4.

You always watch the weather closer than I do ... It's supposed to stay west of here, right?

Sounds like I could get there, but not get home on Saturday. May try driving in if it is still a go, as I have other things to do in LAF while I am there.

There’s a “force field” around west central IN, e IL, with this storm and the last one blasting all around us, S, W, N, E, with no snow here. Kinda crazy.

We are back in the 4 inches of snow band. Even if it only snows 2 inches and the clouds clear, there's no way my hangar will be cleared before lunch. I am more than likely out.

Ugh (KEVV)

I'm out because we got a crappy New Year's present from someone and need to quarantine till mid-week next.

With the weather suckage, and @masloki having the clap, let's officially push to our crappy weather date of the 22nd. We should all have omicron by then. Besides... What's the chances of two lousy weather weekends in a row. In January. In the Midwest*.

Wanna go halfsies? Or maybe half of halfsies....or the derivative of halfsies minus the squareroot of some large number?
I'm in. Heck if 50 of us get together, we could buy one. Of course we couldn't afford to fly it, but we could sit in it and make airplane noises. Maybe we could let @kaiser start it up, just once.

*I'm aware this is a controversial & offensive term. Please insert your preferred regional name here.

Someone told me eman1200 is really good at air plane noises. Judging by his moniker picture, he has been practicing a long time!

It's possible I misunderstood

When you call it ‘the clap’ it’s applause, and that’s good right? Almost as good as Corona (the beer) and certainly more fun than a ride on Delta (coincidentally, we figure it’s the airport or the DAL flight where we actually got it).

all it really means is that he has to ride in the back when I bring him haha
In an Arrow? Ouch!
Btw, can you put me down for PWK? Closer for me and shorter for you.

To save me from scrolling backwards through a hundred posts, where are you talking about meeting on 1/22?

Edit: Terre Haute? Am I reading that correctly?

7 day is showing "mostly sunny" for next Saturday :fcross:

I will catch you guys on the next one, we have a conflict that day. Looking forward to a picture.

Ok, I’ll say it. The weather looks better…

I'll be running a bowling tourney, or I'd have popped on down.
