Hello All,

I am hoping to gain insight from all of you experienced pilots. I'm a student pilot going for 3rd Class. I was on Lexapro for 2.3 years for general anxiety for the pressures of life: Kids moving away; new wife; stressful job. Didn't really need it, but doc recommended it. I stopped 60 days ago and didn't even notice a change. I will have my PCP write up the situation in accordance with the SSRI Decision Path 1 (see FAA website). What words can I ask him to use that might clarify the situation best for the FAA? I know I'm right on the 2 year cusp. Any advice is welcome! Thanks, Doug V from MA

Contact Dr. Bruce Chien. @bbchien Do exactly what he says, have your physician write exactly what Bruce suggests. Bruce is one of the authors of the FAA’s SSRI protocol and knows how you should proceed

Thank you, Mr. Fast. Not quite sure how to work this forum. By you "tagging" Dr. Chien, will that do it? Or perhaps I can message him somehow? v/r Doug

That will alert him that he has been mentioned in this post and he’ll probably pop in. But, you can also search for one of his posts (forum’s full of them) and get his contact info from his tag line or send him a private message.

Doug, left click on my byline, it takes you to my website. Send me a message and we can start there....

So sorry!! What's a byline? I've gone to your "homepage" and saw no "send a message." I tried to start a conversation, but it said "no conversions for BBChien." I'm an engineer and scientist, and very ashamed I can't figure it out...
