Looks great. Full screen, 5G,USB-C and lots of performance and camera boosts.

Also cool was at the announcement they showcased it running Foreflight!

Complete event should be up soon after it’s over (it’s live now).

I might consider it but I've gotten used to using my iphone. hhmmmmm...........

Any word on overall size? Will new gadgets be needed? Like yoke mounts and stuff like that?

They announced something for you too. iPhone 13 now has a smaller notch.

My mini is getting long in the tooth. Nice to know I'll be able to replace it when the time comes.

I’m so tired of buying new format cables for different devices, apple and others.

As far as the charging I see no real difference using my "old time" USB cable that I used to charge my iPhone 6 when charging my iPhone 12. The 12 doesn't have a headphone jack as it's all Bluetooth now and that is a bit of an annoyance to me ...

I think the Mini is the perfect size for a cockpit, but my iPhone 12 Pro Max fits even better in the tight cockpit of my Sky Arrow. Plus I have a new iPad Air so I’ve got that covered.

So no new Mini for me, as much as I’d been hoping for one. Still, as I’d spec one out, $66.58/month for 12 months is pretty trivial compared to other aviation-related expenses.

Can you imagine a world where there was a "universal serial bus". Instead of a company that makes a proprietary cable just to milk people.
I can imagine a world where everything going to the iPhone/iPad is wireless.

And I was juuuuust thinkin my iPad Air is a bit too big in its yoke mount in le Arrowe.

Too bad RAM doesn't have a system that will allow me to just change out the cradle part that holds the iPad and not force me to buy new clamps/arms/mounting hardware.... otherwise I'd think about getting this new mini....

(PLEASE don't post a link to the RAM cradle that will hold this new iPad mini and work with the existing claw/arms.... PLEASE don't.... for the love of all that is holy don't... I don't want to spend more money on iPads...)

I’m thinking instead of getting a good price on a 5th gen. I just don’t want to add another connector to my collection. I wonder what my old 4th gen would be worth in trade? $30?

How can I buy a leftover 5th gen from Apple?

They could have done that years ago but they cant give you all the features at once because you won't buy the next one.

I'll be buying one. Pilot on android is just too unstable, and although ifly is promising to support garmin transponders "in the future", I'll believe it when I see it.

You guys who watch this... is there any chance of there being any discount on these things before Christmas?

Know an Apple employee? Teacher/student (edu discount)? Veteran?

Still have to go Cellular to get GPS. Never understand why Apple does that when none of the competition seems to. $150 difference between the two.

I was surprised.. My gen 4 is worth $145 as a trade in. Hmmmm.
No refurbished gen 5. I need to keep looking for the clearance gen 5.
