My son passed away 4 years ago at 9 (almost 10) from cancer so I never could take him flying (just got my ppl in June). However, his best friend came by the other day and we were talking and he wanted to go. His parents said okay and so we are going up tomorrow evening if the weather allows. I don’t know who is more excited, him or me!

So sorry about your son. But that’s awesome to hear his friend wants to go flying. Have a great time!

Wow. Just wow...

Good for you two!! Bravo and have a great memorable flight. Do remember, no pictures, didn’t happen!

I hope you two have an awesome time together! Report back!

Condolences for your son… :(

This is AWESOME !!! Let us know how bad he gets bitten by the aviation bug.

Condolences to you and your family.
I think taking his best friend flying is a wonderful idea and I am sure you’ll both enjoy it!

I am so very sorry about your son. I reconnected with a pair of old friends the other day (we found the birth announcement for his daughter in our old papers) only to learn that their son also passed away. Such a heartbreak.

We talked for an hour. I really need to go out and see them some time.

Sorry about your son Roger, I couldn't imagine...

But, nice to hear about his friend. I'm assuming he's about 14, should be a good time!

I cant begin to imagine what you have gone through and extend my condolences for the loss of your son. I am sure he is riding with you and the little friend in spirit.

He had a blast, and so did I! Let him fly a little and we did some steep turns and stalls (he's 16, 2 years older than my son would be, but they were best friends) and he ate it all up!

I also greased the landing in a 7kt crosswind. Tailwheel training makes a difference!

So great! Your son would be very happy knowing the two of y’all went flying together, I just know it!

That is sooooo awesome! Thanks for posting pics, love the happy smiles.

So special. Really happy you were able to do that. I cannot imagine the emotions. Blessings to your family. Thanks for sharing.

That. Is. AWESOME! Thanks for sharing. Now I’m gonna go take some allergy medicine for my watery eyes... ragweed is terrible this time of year....
