Good afternoon everyone,
I received a letter a few minutes ago from the FAA and I'd like to get some advice on how to move forward. The FAA is asking for records pertaining to "Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Apnea and previous concussions".

I was treated for essentially grief counseling after a rough relationship break up and the anxiety/depression was a result of that and what would come of family law litigation moving forward. All of this occurred nearly 10 years ago and I have not been on any form of psychiatric medication for over 5 years.

I was recently diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and have only had my CPAP machine for 2 months or so so I don't have the 12-months of records of using the machine.

I sustained a couple of concussions playing hockey in high school more than 20 years ago and completed two military enlistments without issues.

I'm in overall good health and my initial visit with the AME, he did not have any concerns.

I've heard some horror stories about getting caught up in the system and am looking for that beacon to guide me through this process.

Your beacon is the letter you got from the FAA ... provide them what they ask for and stay in communication with your AME.

30 days is the minimum acceptable (first time only) duration for sleep apnea use.
If your 2011-2016 event is your “one and only” this will have a happy ending, if current status report is indeed favorable......

You have two of the best AMEs for difficult situations responding here in Drs. Fowler and Chien. Pick one, hire him, and have him walk you through the FAA process. Follow their advice to the letter. They'd be your best chance of coming out on the other side with a successful result.

Drs. Fowler and Chien,
What are your preferred methods of contacting you (respectively)? I would like to discuss further, and come up with a game plan. I'm willing to pay for your consultation if needed. I don't believe that I require any evaluations but I would welcome any input that you have. I'm new to this forum so my permissions are limited until I have made more posts. I'm located north of Seattle, just outside of Mill Creek, WA.

little link in my sig-line....

Thank you Dr. Chien,
I have reached out through your website. I'm hoping to get clarification on what is being asked, then obtain your guidance. I do appreciate you assisting me.
